Round 3: Journey to find the DCAU flops

Ok, last week The Prometheon won the title of the that weeks worst S:TAS episode, so lets keep it rolling. Oh, and for those who think this poll is to negative, I'm not trying to openly critisize any episodes, just see what ya'll think are episodes that don't live up to the standards or other episodes we've seen from the DCAU, this is at the same level as picking out the best episode, I mean if you thinks its unfair that I make a poll for the worst episodes, is it so fair to pick out an episode that's the quote on quote best, that's just like saying the other ones aren't so good. So once again, I'm not trying to be negative towards these shows or the great creators that made them, each one is great on their own terms, but this is just to see what ya'll consider to be episodes that could've been improved on or you don't like so much.

Just wondering, will you be doing something like this for BTAS and TNBA episodes as well? I only ask because of your username, it is clear that you are a rather big fan of Batman. I just think that in the interest of fairness, you should do polls/surveys for BTAS and TNBA as well. As a fan of STAS, I do find this somewhat offensive, and although you stated that you are not trying to be openly critical, it would appear to some people that you are taking subtle jabs at what you may see as an inferior product to BTAS/TNBA.

I love S:TAS, I just got Season 1, and I can't stop watching it, my Batman DVDs are getting a break , not as much as B:TAS, but I'm going to do every cartoon, I wouldn't just stab at onw show like that, now that would be negative unfair, which is exactly what I'm not trying to be, infact, B:TAS is after S:TAS. I'm very sorry if I offended you, and I don't find S:TAS to be inferior to B:TAS in any way.

Lots of stinkers in this batch. It was a tough choice, but I had to go with Father's Day. Truly awful! From top to bottom a terrible episode with little to no saving qualities. Most of the Darkseid episodes were great, but this one just never got going. PU!

No problem! It's just that STAS happems to be my all-time favorite DCAU show, and since there are so many Batfans on this board, I feel need to defend Superman and STAS any chance I get. I actually think offened might have been a bit harsh on my part. Friends?

Oh, and I guess I would say "Monkey Fun" is my least favorite STAS episodes of the list given, therefore it gets my vote.

^ Not at all, I think it's great that you stand up for something that you really like. S:TAS is a great show and follow-up to B:TAS and doesn't dissapoint. And I totally agree that S:TAS is a bit underrated because it came after B:TAS, which most people seem to prefer, and this is coming from a die-hard B:TAS fan when I say that B:TAS is a bit overrated, just a tiny bit (sorry, had to defend my ego ) and since it was the first show they did, there are more mistakes that happened in its run and a few more stinkers in the series than in Superman, partly because it's was b.t. and crew's first show and there are more episodes than Superman, so I totally understand where you're coming from.

Oh, and my vote goes to Father's Day, it just seemed like a 22 minute smackdown to me, nothing to groundbreaking, not story at all, but the ending was good.

Well, my least favorite episode of S:TAS is probably "Livewire" (annoying character, dumb origin even by comic-book standards, etc.), and I actually liked some of those episodes listed, but out of the ones above that I recall seeing, I'd pick "Father's Day"---an example of how it felt at times like someone or something from or related to Apokolips/New Genesis would show up every third episode. In this case, a plot about Kalibak (IIRC) picking a fight with Supes because, um, they needed to pad out 22 minutes I guess. And Pa Kent visiting Metropolis for Father's Day. *Yawn*...

The weird thing about all this, though, is Batman Fan's polls make me see the good in episodes while Jinx's make me see the bad. That's how I eliminate my choices.

This thread actually made me realize how much I like "Father's Day". I think Kalibak was fun, and I always felt that this was the episode where Lois found out that Superman is Clark Kent (too bad it was never followed up on).

I know beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but I can't believe "The Late Mr. Kent" got included in the list. This is one of my favorite DCAU episodes, and the best examination of why Superman needs to be Clark Kent once in a while. And the last scene of that episode just rocked!

Let me just say that I'm one of three people on the planet who thought "Monkey Fun" was a hoot, a great homage to the ape-obsessed comics of the 1960s.

Heavy Metal on the other hand, had all the qualities of a Slayer concert being beamed into your bedroom at 4:30 in the morning. Except for "Superman's Pal", it's the worst of the series.

How can anyone see the late Mr. kent as a bad ep? It dealt whit a croocked cop being exposed as a murder and putting the blame on a innerocent person who almost die. Not even batman had a ep like that. Come on, STAS deserve better then this.
