The Official Justice League Unlimited Figure Thread

    Like This Thread!
Just wanted to let you guys know, the new justice league 3-packs are out and in stores now. I have seen Green Arrow, Dr Fat, and Flash pack, and the superman, Martian Manhunter (clear) and Brainiac packs. Also, hawkgirl, batman, and elongated man appear to be on ebay as well. Again, its going to be a struggle to find her. Hopefully, Amazo, Aquaman, and The red tornado will be out soon!!!!!

They've been on eBay for at least 2-3 weeks. I will be picking up some soon when the prices start to settle. The pack with Elongated Man sold for anywhere between $35-50 to begin with. Absolutely nuts. They have slowly been creeping down to a more reasonable $12-15 level recently.

actually, the single carded hawkgirl (black outfit) and wonder woman (w/lasso!) are popping up all over phoenix and chandler, AZ. the three packs hit the wed. before xmas, and the elongated man 3 pack was the rarest. the braniac one is the most common. the green arrow one ROCKS!

the single carded figs come with accessories, but the 3 packs don't.

Those are cute, and they'd be perfect for a desk. The only one I've seen is the Flash figure. I saw the Hawkgirl fig. before Christmas, but I haven't seen one since.

So, are they just like mini versions of the regular figures?

Do the figures in the 3-packs come with bases?

These toys are really a PITA to stand amd display without them.

and I love those little diecast figs.

No -- the idea behind these figures of the "lesser characters" is that they would have no accessories and none of the articulation that had been added into the main 7 and a few villains. Most of these 3-packed heroes won't be getting a single card release at all -- Atom, Green Arrow and Aquaman (who is articulated) are exceptions. Atom is starting to turn up in stores along with the first 3 sets of 3-packs. I think the rest are expected in the Spring (along with the 10" Hawkgirl, who is only available through comic specialty stores and Diamond preorder right now).

There's another thing -- the plastic in these first sets of 3-packed figures has been warped in the packaging, and virtually all of them have bent feet. You have to sort of warm them up (with a hair dryer or carefully boiling their legs briefly) to get the plastic to "remember" its shape so they can stand up.

Some Mattel insiders on the RTM board just mentioned yesterday that besides Red Tornado, Booster Gold (shown in the most recent Toyfare magazine issue), Amazo and Starman, there are plans this year to release Sinestro, Waverider and Wildcat in three packs. Grundy was sculpted last year, but was too big for the packaging, so Mattel hasn't figured out a way to release him yet. Lobo was sculpted, but will not ever be released due to it being decided that his character was "not appropriate for a kid targeted license".

Maybe I've said this already, but it bugs me that the prototypes of Fate and Green Arrow we saw a while back actually look better than the finished product. GA had some nice articulation, and his color scheme was much more vibrant and true to his look on the show. Fate also had some articulation, and aside from his boots being on-model, he just looked less...cheap. Wonder if they were using uglier plastic on these new figures or something, cause in both cases, the protos were certainly more impressive.

Anyone who is interested need only do a quick search to see what the old versions looked like.

If Lobo isn't appropriate for a kid audience, then why don't they make him a special order figure through comic retailers for those 18 and older or something? Sure, he has studs on his outfit, but as long as the figure doesn't talk, I fail to see how he could corrupt the already warped youth of america.

And could someone please do something about the Wonder Woman figures Mattel is making? She looks like total fecies, folks. Really.

Green Arrow is a fun action figure, though I wish they'd thrown a lousy bow in with him in the three-pack. Fate is my least favorite of the new figures for the exact reason you mention -- he just looks and feels cheap, and the warped legs don't help. On the other hand -- a Dr. Fate figure for three bucks, after years of there being no DCAU heroes in plastic but Batman, Robin, Nightwing, Creeper, Supergirl, sorta Batgirl and sorta Superman means I can't look a gift horse in the mouth. I have a dozen JLU members now in toy form and that makes me happy.

I don't think Mattel is interested in the specialty collector market for toy distribution. Wal*Mart says no Lobo, that means no Lobo.

Hey, I'm not going to complain about having Diana in plastic toy form. She looks better than in that card back picture, and she's on model, unlike almost anything Hasbro ever out out there. We're lucky to have any female heroes at all in this line, from the sound of it.

I can't tell you how excited about I am about these new figures. Just wish they would release more villians.

BTW, if anyone wants to weigh in on what die-cast figures Mattel should consider making after the core seven, they asked for input:
