Does anyone here know if Aquaman will ever be released un-articulated? I hate the articulation! it looks so crappy and i just doesnt match my core 7.
Why is he the only new one w/ articulation anyway? My theory is that, since they had the mold for a while since they did the maquette and 10" a while ago, they probably made the small figure around the same time they were adding articulation to all the other characters, and probably just skipped the unarticulated one. any insiders know the reason?
also, why did they go BACK to the un-articulated figs with the new characters. I'm not complaining because i hate the articulation and think it looks just terrible, but what was their reason?
thanks. peace.

Reason - in order to get the breadth of characters into JLU 2005, we had to hold back on such detail. We also had significant negative feedback on the articulation on elbows and knees so, we opted for more characters, less articulation.
I think Aquaman ended up articulated in both releases because the figure had already been sculpted and tooled for production before the articulation was apparently rethought. It's too bad, because it turns out that the articulated joints improved with later runs and add a lot of fun to the figures. You can pose them and actually play with them. On the cartoon, Ultra-Humanite was my least favorite character design, and yet the toy version of him is probably the best figure in the JL line -- his articulation makes him so fun to pose and he's just so preposterous that he makes me really happy. His huge paws can palm the other heroes' heads! HA HA HA!
Darkseid is the same way -- with his joints he can be posed to choke the crap out of a struggling Flash or Superman, which to me equals Fun with a capital "f". I already miss the articulation in the three pack figures.
Don't pay those kind of prices. Watch for him on amazon.com -- they get all the figures eventually, at reasonable prices. I got all the rarer figures that way. Who has time to drive all over creation looking for them?Originally Posted by JLSAINT
Thanks for the info Peter. Didn't know they even made comments about the line. I also miss the articulation. I was hoping the single carded figures would have them...drat. Anywhere I can go to encourage them to bring it back? They were finally getting it right.
How about this Justice League Action Figure Carry Case i saw online? Does anybody knows if retails stores are selling it??? It holds up to 12 action figures and looks very nice.

Just went to my local Target and picked up 2 3 packs of the new unlimited figures. The one with Braniac and the one with Green Arrow and Dr. Fate.
How many more of the 3 packs list on the back of the cards are out? Does anyone know?

Batman, Hawkgirl, Elongated Man
Atom is turning up now, single-carded and won't be in any 2005 3 packs.
Elongated Man, Wildcat, Waverider, Sinestro will only be available in the 3 packs, for this year at least. The other extra characters will get single card release with accessories, like Green Arrow with bow and trick arrow or Dr. Fate with ankh.
I think the others are due "in the Spring". The annual New York Toy Fair is in February, which should have lots more info.
Thanks for the info, guess I need to start hunting for the Elongated Man 3 pack, thanks again!Originally Posted by PeterFries

is there anywhere online to order the diecast figures other than ebay?
Thanks PeterFries for all the info! Here's another qs, and sorry if its been asked already--Is Aquaman going to be released single carded? And when is his 3 pack due out? I he will be single carded, when will that be out?
Also, anyone know where i can write to mattel (me being lazy and not wanting to research this myself) and ask for an UN-ARTICULATED aquaman? sorry DisneyBoy, but i want to do the OPPOSITE of what you want to do.![]()
also, i'd like to ask them to stop making the core 7 articulated, not that i care that much since i have the original 7 figures. It just makes no sense, i never heard of a toy line w/ 2 different kinds of toys, it just doesnt match right. Its annoying and looks so dang bad.
Me personally, i'm gonna only get the 3 packs w/ figs not due out later single carded. I can wait, i mean, these figs are cool, but not as good quality as the original 7 figures, which were basically mini-maquettes. They'll have relevant accessories and i wont have to pack away yet another batman or superman figure that i'll never use or display.
Oh, and any news on new 10" figures? I'd assume Green Arrow will be made into a 10" fig since he has a maquette due out. Oh, and is the Green Arrow figure based off the maquette like the main 7? I'd guess not because of how it looks, but maybe? Maybe a new GA figure based off the maquette down the road?
One more thing--I'd LOVE a hero Amazo, rather than a villian amazo. All theyd have to do is scale him up a bit and paint him gold.
anyway, thanks again for the info Mr. Fries, oh, i mean PeterFries, hehe. peace.

Action figures. ACTION figures people! Do you really enjoy having Batmans that can't sit in a chair? Or Wonder Womans who just stand (lean?) around?
You like maquettes? Great. Buy maquettes. Leave the articulated figures alone. I'll let you know when they start getting ugly, and then I'll be writing letters along with you.
Figures of this size are just too small for articulation. If they were the same size as the DC Direct figures, great, but when they end up being all joints and hinges, and looking rubbish as a result, I say get rid of the articulation. What kind of a nut even takes them out of the packaging anyway? Sheeesh![]()
Why would you want to sit your batman in a chair??Originally Posted by DisneyBoy
Anyway, I agree w/ supremus. As they are now, the articualtion IS all joints and bolts and just looks like pure swarbage.
BTW, if youll remember, the Kenner Batman line, both the Batman returns AND the BTAS figures, as well as the tnba figs (although i think they were hasboro) all didnt have articulation, and they were awesome, and they would have looked bad with articulation. Sure, some of them were in 'actiony' poses, but overall, especially tnba line, they were pretty much just straight armed and legged. And the btas line was like one of the best toy lines ever, so.
I personally dont sit around an play w/ my toys. And i never did much of that as a kid either (well, i did when i was REALLY young). I always collected them more for asthetic reason, like to look at and admire, and set up on my shelves, AND i always would rather they look good then if they were articualted. I personally never cared for articulated figures to begin with, just because of how it looked.
anyway, to each his own, but DisneyBoy, i'm surprised you have this attitude about non-articulation, since most of the batman toys from the dcau have been without articulation. you make like not having articulation is something new or something. but to each his own. peace.
