The Batman: Am I Crazy?

Am I crazy? I'm not the biggest fan of The Batman, yet I continue to buy or search for the original painted figures. I just picked up Bane yesterday, and it's a pretty impressive figure. It's even sculpted to scale with the rest of the line. I'm now searching pretty eagerly for the Man Bat. Maybe this is the first toy line where the figures sell better than the show???



Any of you guys buying this toy line?

Yep, I just got Bane, Penguin and Man-Bat to add to my first batch of figures. I even bought some of the strangely colored ones, which is usually a no-no for me.

I've been tempted to pick up some of the figures, purely because of how cool they look. I actually like the art style of the show - probably the only thing about it I do like.

I despise the series, but I think the figures rock! I have Batman, Joker, and the Batmobile so far. It's all my small town has got so far.

Too bad about how he was packaged. My Bane had his head facing you full on instead of being cocked to the side. It looked much better on the card.

Yeah, when I saw bane I couldn't not pick him up. He was just so... damn cool looking. The only other figure I have now is one of the Batmans. Actually, it's the Bruce Wayne/Batman figure. (Even as a kid, the only Batman figures I could ever stand to pick up were either Batmans that looked normal, which are few and far between, and Bruce Waynes that converted.) I also picked up the Batmobile, just for kicks. You'd be surprised how cool I found it to be that I could fit Batman in it easily, and strap him in to boot! (Earlier Batmobiles had trouble accomodating Batman figures.)

I've seen all of the figures so far and I've passed on every single one. I was going to get the 10" one to go with my JL 10", but after seeing the show I don't care to own it. I love the art design, but I don't think I could stand to wake up and see it on my desk--and yes, I find the show that bad.

The Bane figure is too horribly out of scale to fit anyway. When you compare it to this scale, he's not nearly big enough. Granted that would've been a massive piece of plastic, but if you're not gonna do a toy right, then why do it at all.

Man-Bat is really cool looking though, I'll give it that...

No you're not crazy. I've thought about getting them too and wonder if they would be cool in my office. I don't think I'll take the plunge, but I've considered it.

Oh and The Penguin is either out or coming real soon. Much like Bane he has a questionable scale according to Michael Crawford the toy review guy.

I wasn't aware a second wave of figures was out yet. The Bane one is looking snazzy, but that Penguin one - ugh - I like the design on the show but on the figure, his face looks WAY too deformed in all the wrong places. Ugh.

Man-Bat oughta look cool. I actually liked the Man-Bat design on this show more than BTAS' version.

Yeah I picked up Joker and Batman when they came out and have seen Manbat which I kind of like but I just can't buy figures for a show I really dislike. I think style of the show is cool but aside from that....
