    Some thoughts on BB #21

    Like This Thread!
First off, I have to say I was pleasently surprised by this issue. The story was pretty good (should have had a better cliffhanger ending) and Black Light is an interesting new villian. Also, Rick Burchett's art was really good. Actually it was amazing considering he hasn't done any animated work since 1999! The only downside of this issue, was that Superman wasn't even in it! Their reason was Superman was off-planet with Micron and Aquagirl. Oh well, i'm sure he'll be in part two (or else!). By the way, this issue was NOT written by Hilary Barta, it was written by Hilary BADER! Just thought i'd fill you in. Anyways, congrats to a great issue of BB! I'm tellin you, they should have made this two-parter the the final issue, instead of "Terry's Mom Dates a Splicer"(which sounds like the worst issue ever! )

    See ya!

I was disspaointed in the lack of Micron and Superman, also. I wish Aquagirl was there more, instead of showing up to play nursmaid in the last quarter of the book. Overall, it was a good book. I was really suprised. Why haven't gotten good issues like this before instead of the dreck we usually get?

Great book. It was nice to see Burchett back on an animated title. I wasn't too happy with the inks though. Beatty's lines are usually clearer and fitter.

But I too was disappointed Superman was barely mentionned. He had better show up next month!

Agreed. I'd rathar have seen Beatty inking Burchett than Dan Davis. I wish Burchett would be around longer than 2 issues. And did anyone else think it was weird when Barda zapped Terryz?

That WAS a bit strange. It seemed to me she had no reason to zap Bats except for personal enjoyment!

I just didn't get it. Maybe it was to prove how there can be unexpected suprises or something, but I just can't think of a reason why Barda would injure the lad.

You mentioned how your comic shop is so far away. Can't you subscribe to some membership and have them mail it to you? It shoul donly be an extra $5 at the most.

I thought this was a great story great new villian sorta like sinestro but meaner. I was sorly disipointed with the absence of Superman and Micron. The fight scenes were good GL put up a good fight and terry's comback to Hawkeye was pretty funney. Overall one of the best issues of the series.

well, it seems as everyone really liked this issue. i'm included. the JLU makes for a pretty good story, and i hated that they are only going to be in these two issues. blacklight was cooler than i thought he was going to be, a very good concept to go with.

one question to throw out there, though: do you all think that BB could come back under another name or title? it'd be cool if they did a JLU book with batman, but i doubt it will happen... at least i can look forward to the JLA animated book...
