Is it me...or?

I dont know what to make of this. I usually have no problem maneuvering my way around the boards here but in a couple threads (most notably the villains thread at board top) I cannot get past a certain point...it just will not load!

In that particular thread I can get up to the 9th reply by "Fish" which was posted yesterday afternoon. I've tried 3 or 4 times now and can never get past this post. Who posted below #9 is a mystery to me and I can only imagine it is loaded with graphics but who knows?

I guess I'll try again. I just hope it is interesting after all of these attempts!

I don't know if this could be your problem, but sometimes if there are too many animated GIFs on the threads and replies, such as the animated smilies, I can't completely load a thread either without having to shut my AOL down. My computer is old, tho. I don't have the problem if I get on the computer at work. I don't know if there are alot of animated GIFs in that thread or not.

I just popped in and realized what the problem must have been...traffic (probably on my end)! It was very busy here earlier and many of my fav threads were difficult to load. I was just about to delete this thread and saw your reply...I agree about the graphics...but I just got into that thread no problem so who knows! Thanks

here's a good solution: everybody stop overusing the animated smilies!

Well, it's like any new toy...you're more likely to use it more when you first get it, but once the newness and the fun of it wears off, you handle it more moderately. I think the animated smilies have tapered off to a level of responsible moderation.
