Ok, seeing as it looks like BB won't elaborate on where he is... What do you guys think? Y'know, what do you imagine?

he was captured by inque and then unmasked for the money from revealing his identity. since he didn't tell who batman was or any of the secrets of the batcave..inque "disposed", to put it lightly, of him.

i totally doubt that.............but it could have happened.

    Dick and BB's mentions

Considering what little info we've gotten from BB I assume (mainly based on ROTJ) that he just got fed up and then in Bludhaven (which is seen in an Adventures of the DCU comic) he continued his fight against crime. Knowing him, he probably would be still fighting crime in his 40's. He's pretty much too far into it to go back to a normal life, I don't think he could quit. He's no amature either, so I don't think he's been disposed of.

Hmm, but he didnt want to be like Bruce. I think he would've kept fighting until he found that "special someone" and settled down, if only to avoid Bruce's fate. Unless, like Robin III said, he decided he was in way too deep to quit.

    The Fate of Dick

Physically he was strong, but spiritually quite weak. Tortured by his inner demons, he turned all his hatred for Bruce inward, drank himself into oblivion, and one night committed suicide--either by shooting himself with a pistol or pulling a Brody off the Gotham Towers.

Morbid, I know, and I apologize. But wasn't it Bruce who said, "When you look too deeply into the abyss, the abyss looks into you"?

    Old, bitter, unhappy

I think he's probably in many ways similar to Bruce. Ends up alone. Probably stops the hero gig which explians the costume in the Batcave. Probably never resolves his differences with either Bruce or Barbara.

hey guys - love the new boards.

I think Dick's still going strong. Maybe he's cut down on his role a little but I don't see him walking away from all that he created/fought for .... and he's too strong to do anything like kill himself ... he's seen the abyss, looked down into it and then found a way across it.
I see him as a Steven Segal type of character ... a really strong man who has found peace but still fights the good fight .... he'd still be Nightwing (different costume ... all black to signify his growth - all the best people go darker with age ... Skywalkers, Batmans - and maybe Bruce even made him a suit much like Terry's) but not be the troubled person he once was. Children and maybe teaching (martial arts perhaps) have calmed him down but he can't walk away from it all because of who he is.
The brief mentions of Nightwing in BB:ROTJ suggested that WB were going to pursue the character but it seems as though that won't happen now It's a shame these people don't listen to fans for ideas

    HE is dead

He has to be dead. In the episode Spellbound Terry asks who DG is and Bruce makes a very sad face and puts his head down.

    Err..

I just realized he can't be dead. IN ROTJ Barbara tells Terry to look up Nightwing. He has some stories for ya. Which would mean that he IS still alive.

    He's still at it!

    Hi everyone!

I'm going to build off of Shriek's last post. I too feel that Dick Grayson is still very much alive and well. I believe that he is now living in Bludhaven. I also believe that he is still fighting crime as NIGHTWING! I feel that he kept himself in good shape through the years (or maybe he even had some help from the Lazarus Pit), so he is still physically capable of doing it. I agree with what was said above that he is too deep into it to quit. It is now a part of him, and he just can't give that up. Maybe also since he doesn't want to be like Bruce and Bruce quit being Batman, he'll go on just to be rebellious.

Also, Shriek mentioned that Barbara told Terry to look up Nightwing. Had Dick quit being Nightwing, she would have told Terry to look up Dick Grayson. This is only my theory, and it could most definitely be wrong, but it is plausible.

I too am also upset that with both the series and comic book coming to an end and the possibility that no more animated BB movies may be made, we will truly never know what happened to Dick. This is a shame, for he was one of my favorite characters, and he definitely deserved to be examined. Shame on the WB!

    Have a hoping day!

Let's not forget why Dick was able to become such an amazing hero on his own, and have the moxy to lead the teen titans etc. He was taught by the best. Yeah he didn't like what Bruce had become, but the more he didn't want that to happen to him, it was. Yeah the obsession thing is a Bruce exclusive, but he's still more like Bruce than he thinks.

He left Gotham to find himself more and to get away from Bruce at the same time so he could accomplish that. Although he didn't find himself completely, he still became both mentally, spiritually and physically stronger.

    Well, he's definitley alive!

From what Barbara said in ROTJ, it's pretty obvious. And I think he is still Nightwing, defending Bludhaven or some other city. Like many other people said, he is in this too deep to just quit.

    See ya!

I'd imagine him to be more of an open super hero, his attitude towards crime fighting more in the vain of Superman rather than Batman. Less dark than Batman and more friendly and open to the citizens of whatever city he protects.

I imagine he got too old to play the crime game anymore, and then heard about what money there is to be made in kid's TV. Nightwing is now TV's resident Krusty the clown.
That is why Bruce looked so sad at the mention of Dick in 'Spellbound' - his ex-partner sold out and
is making people - God help me for saying this Bruce - ... happy ugh..

Or perhaps he's doing the same thing as always - but with a little more dignity to his approach (less swinging from rooftops and more detective work). Perhaps runs his own agency - NightWing Agency par example....

Since his costume hangs in the Batcave, it seems likely Dick's not the Nightwing we all remember. I imagine the legend of Nightwing continues more in essence than the physical.

seeing that a BB movie that talks about the details of dick grayson seem unlikely, how about the BB animated comic that will talk about dick grayson?

    Great idea!

[i]...how about the BB animated comic that will talk about dick grayson? [/B]

That right there is an excellent idea. Take whatever ideas Dini and the rest of the Bat-co had for Nightwing and make a few comic volumes. Unfortunately I don't think it'd work well for some reason. What with the Dini and Timm fall out, and the like. Times just don't seem good for Batman, because even though it's the best stories ever told, the whole pop culture world, and the suits at WB, hate us.

But ya know, some time ago I knew two guys who not only worked great together, but were the best of the best at what they did. Time went on, things changed and some complications separated them. BUT, after some more time passed, they patched things up for the most part. And these two men were.... Dick Grayson and Bruce Wayne. Funky huh? lol. Think about it Paul and Bruce! Thiiiink about iiiit....!

    Re: Dick Grayson

I think he's still alive, and still kickin'. But, he's lightened up a bit. He became too bitter and quit, hence the suit in the batcave. However, as said before, Nightwing is a part of him, so he went back to crime fighting. He did it alone this time, because he realized he had become exactly like Bruce. So, he somehow, through love of somesort, that insted, he wanted to be better than Bruce. So now Nightwing lives on.
