i dont know if this is a gadget or not - but he does have retractrable claws built into the gloves of his suit. does that count as a gadget?
Hey there, peoples. I've always wondered how Batman can hold such large, and often cumbersome, gadgets in his utility belt. I've also wondered which gadgets he carries with him reguarly, and also which ones he "just happens to have handy". So I decided to complie a list.
Here's the ones I've been able to come up with, but can anyone think of anything more?
- Batarangs
- Grappling gun
- Smoke pellets
- Bolas
- Evidence bags and tweezers
- Gas mask
- Explosive charges
- Tracking devices
- Binoculars
- Batlines (ropes with Batarangs attached on the end)
That's all I can think of for the moment.

Your memory is a monster; you forget - it doesnt. It simply files things away. It keeps things for you, or hides things from you - and summons them to your recall with a will of its own. You think you have a memory; but it has you!

Weren't the claws an edition to the Batman Beyond suit?

It was World's finest, also he carries binoculars, Bat-Tracers, a variation of Batarangs (ninja death star type things) in JL he occasionaly has Kryptonite in there & in the first Mr Freeze ep (Heart of Ice I think) he carried Chicken Soup with him (Originally Posted by Martianman606
just messing with that last one)
He has those electrified brass knuckles he uses on occassion.
Also, he has (or had) a device to open up the Watchtower doors.
Little pins to pick a lock (these aren't tweezers)
I think those knuckles might be adapted from Thanagarian technology, which makes sense. I mean, in a fist fight with super bad guys, Batman has to have some kind of edgeOriginally Posted by awh1978

I think he also carries infrared goggles with him (surprised he doesn't have night vision goggles as well) and let's not forget the remote transmitter hidden under the belt buckle he uses to summon the batmobile/batboat

How...does all that stuff fit into his belt again...???![]()
He doesn't. Batman actually has robotic legs which are quite hollow. The belt simply disguises openings to the legs so he can put all his gadets inside of them. It also gives him the enhanced leaping power you see him use in episodes like paradise lost.
Batman does have infrared lenses mounted in his mask, he used them in a sewer fight with Killer Croc ("Vendetta"). He also had a palmtop computer built into his glove in a Riddler episode ("If You're So Smart, Why Aren't You Rich?") - I wasn't crazy about that, it seemed like that device was added just for that show. And I'm not sure if it's glove-mounted or not, but he always seems to have a knife handy for cutting ropes or Poison Ivy's creeper vines.
Okey-dokey!
