Teen Titans: Too much of a good thing?

    Like This Thread!
Okay, I love Teen Titans just as much as the next, but the repeats are starting to get VERY redundant on Cartoon Network. I mean, there's only twenty two episodes thus far (because they STILL haven't played the last four episodes of the second season, which is technically part of the first season, I believe) and they play it eleven times during the week! They play it twice a day Monday-Thursday at six thirty and ten o'clock, once on Friday at six thirty, once at noon on Saturday, once at four thirty on Sunday, and maybe even more times that I'm not even aware of. Not to mention Kids WB airs it on Saturdays, too, if I'm not mistaken. Anyways, the point is that because they play it eleven times a week and since there's only twenty two episodes thus far, they end up playing the whole series in the span of two weeks! That's twice a month and since it has been going on a while...well, these old episodes are getting old REALLY fast. Whenever I go to turn it on, I'm like, "You just PLAYED this episode!" It's so annoying! I love Teen Titans, but there are other shows with SO many more episodes that could be playing eleven times a week. I mean, as much as I hate Dragon Ball, at least it made sense for them to play so many repeats a week considering there was a hundred plus episodes of it. They could at least only play four or five episodes a week so it would take a whole month to play the whole series rather than just two weeks. Or if they played eleven episodes a week, all NEW episodes, then that would be awesome, but of repeats that they've played so many times before? Sigh...I love Teen Titans, but it's really becoming too much of a good thing, in my opinion...

But I guess the ratings are doing very well, so I shouldn't complain, especially considering that will mean more episodes of new Teen Titans will be on the way then...eventually...

Can we try and make our comments just a bit more constructive? Posts like that don't move a thread along--they just start pointless debates.

I see you probbly want Teen Titans movied to the Cartoon Network Forums if you likly hate the series much, since you are probbly one of only 800 users that are against Japanses anime and certian cartoons that used the so called "Anime" theme on the show, no offense but it just seems that way with most of this forums posters except for 2 of the mods here, I mean I feel ashamed that soon this shows posts maybe redirected to the Cartoon Network Foruns because they demand it to not be on this forum anylonger, but that is just my thought on this, and does not really have to be much of an issue there.

Well, that's Cartoon Network for you. I really hate the network now for what it's become and the way they schedule repeats of shows like Teen Titans and canceling out other shows is just stupid.

Well to make a note on this, I was slightly offended that you had insulted a good show that has been getting alot of good ratings as of late and that has become a concern with me ever since, I mean right now even Adult Swim is having thier own problems finding a good time slot, this is probblt why Teen Titans were not able to finish the last 4 episodes, only because when Summer arrives at Cartoon Network, things with time slot changes becomes even more stressful then just trying to finish up the series and stuff, but I guess that is just the way it is, and they may fall back on Teen Titans and possably even Justive League if last minute changes do come up, there is nothing we can do.

It's pretty much the same here. Toonami plays Teen Titans about... 4-5 times a day? Not that you can really complain, they repeat reruns of pretty much everything that much. I just wish they'd cut a few re-runs off everything and introduce some new programing to the schedule/show some of the less shown programs (like Batman of the Future, which I think has been narrowed down to just a 10:35pm space... assuming X-men:Evo hasn't cliamed THAT already) rather then repeat all three Dragon Ball's, Duel Masters and Teen Titans constantly.

But hey, I'm not complaining, I just don't watch it until an episode comes and catches my interest.

Erm, I think you are exaggerating Jeff. There are a lot of Teen Titans fans here on this forum. It's DCAU so even if there wasn't I'm sure the staff would keep it here. You don't see anyone moving Static threads - and there are FAR fewer fans of that series here.

I must admit I was getting tired of Teen Titans of late, less to do with the reruns (it was on a lot when I was in the US, but not as much as Ed Edd and Eddie.. ) but more to do with the stories.

I found a lot of what I saw of season 2 fell back on the character dynamics of season one. One Titan gets on the nerves of another, fallout, make up. That said, having scene Aftershock - an episode I had missed, I must say my opinion was rash. There is still some life in the old girl. I certainly think adding more minor characters for the team to interact with would be good. If the show has any weakness it's that there are too few characters and eventually you run out of potential character plots to run between 5 heroes..

I don't tire, per say...I just want to see the new stuff. Honestly, I don't like having a show I like being aired all the time, but that's alright, because I don't watch too much television. I'm the anime guy in my area. Everyone I've ever talked to say they don't have anime, but they know a guy who has it, and that's how they end up watching what they've all seen. Well, I don't know anyone, so it's my job. And my Anime collection is quite vast (I tell you now, I've invested a lot in the last 4 years...)

Anyways, since I don't watch too much television, I just make sure to try and catch Teen Titans a couple times a week. I don't typically get bored of the old show, but I wouldn't mind seeing those new ones. Especially if they're already done and all that jazz.

It's the same with Futurama. They cram it down our throats as much as they can without giving us new content.

But I'm sure it will all balance out eventually.

Teen Titans may be one of the most popular series right now on CN, but if they keep this crap up, people are just going to get sick of it and not give a damn anymore. I can already see the dwindling attention that Teen Titans seems to be getting from its fans lately. I really hate to see a good thing go to waste, but that's what CN is doing to the show.

I dont know what it is, but I really do not like TT. I've tried to watch it again and again because of it's DCAU heritage, but I just do not like this poor, poor show. It's got nothing to do with the anime styling, I love anime, and it has very little to do with the bastardization of the DCAU continuity, if this "gem" is even in continuity. I dont like it because I feel like I'm losing brain cells watching it, it's so...simple...the dialogue, plots, and characters are laughable, even for a kid's show. It's an insult to my intelligence, I dont think I could have even gotten into this when I was 6, but then I was a major BTAS fan from the day it aired (when I was 6) and I hated all the other "kids" stuff out there with a passion. I dont know, all I know is TT is an attrocity of animation, just like most of the newer American toons.

I don't mind watching some of the reruns. All I want is to find out if Terra is coming back or not...

I don't care for Teen Titans, but I would never be one of those people who says "I wish this show would cease to exist!" As long as my favorite show, JLU, gets 52 episodes, I'm not worried about any other show.

When will Teen Titans hit the 52 episode mark? And will they get more episodes after this?

I'm getting tired of Teen Titans for multiple reasons:

    1. They show it too much considering the number of episodes. If they want to show it that much than they need to crank out another season. I've seen every episode at least three times and I don't make a conscious effort to watch TT.

    2. The plots are overly simplistic, so the episodes don't have much replay value. Most of the episodes center around some simple conflict. There are very few worthwhile villains, and the writers won't do stuff like origin stories, and they don't really tell you anything about the characters. And there's also the absence of any supporting characters. I know they want to keep things simple, but I honestly think they might've gone a little overboard with it.
The world's 225 richest people now have a combined wealth of $1 trillion. That's equal to the combined annual income of the world's 2.5 billion poorest people.

    Something to think about.

Last I heard, Teen Titans was getting another series at least (although, I think it's scheduled for four series) with one of the two parters at the end being written by Marv Wolfman. I just hope they don't play the apprentice angle again.

And yes, I was talking about the UK Toonami, sorry about that

Um...I kind of think some people missed the point of this thread, but whatever... ... It wasn't supposed to really be about bashing Teen Titans (considering I love Teen Titans), but asking fans of the show whether or not they thought it was overplayed or not considering they play it eleven times a week or so and there's only twenty two episodes in the series thus far. It really wasn't supposed to have anything to do with the content of the series or anything like that...

Also, I'm sorry if I was supposed to post this in the CN Forum and not here; I just figured that TT is a DC animated show so it should...well, go here! I mean, I've seen other TT threads on this board...and there's a TT image on the wallpaper for this forum, for crying out loud, so...I don't see what the problem is! I just hope it's not a big deal or anything :anime:.

Anyways, this is totally off topic myself, but, btw, MJC, I love your sig (Reboot Rocks!)!
