    More on the "preview"....SPOILERS!

    Like This Thread!
Well my anticipation got the best of me, and with mixed feelings I broke down and watched the clip, It does indeed contain spoilers I assume it's nothing major, this is only 8sec. out of 90min. but there is some significant stuff here and I'd like to comment on it. This is not a review I just want to touch on a few things I haven't seen mentioned. but if you haven't seen the clip do not read it.

    Where is Superman?
This is the central theme of the clip, I hope it's not the theme of the movie. We first see superman frozen in some kind of trance, is the effect of alien foul play or is he in a state of shock? I can't remember if these aliens were meant to be the White Martians, if so they might have some telepathic control over him. Also we saw those weird shots of "superman's headache" (I believe FAILURE has adopted one of these as his Avatar), It looks like he is either possessed or thinks he is actually one of them. Maybe under their control, he's become a pawn in their plans to conquer Earth. Either way this seems awfully significant.

He then snaps out of it when the young guy in the first shot "SNAPS" his fingers, hmmm I wonder who that might be?. We don't get to hear what he says but I'm guessing it's a certain famous JL mascot (no not Marvin) I can't tell if that's him as the reporter later on, but he might be liaison between the JL and the public.

Then Superman seems to go in the opposite direction as Batman, who's joined the military defense of Metropolis, I wonder what he knows?

Now this is the shot I really whish I hadn't seen, but only cause it's such a great shot, Martian Manhunter appears to morph out of thin air, If this is the first time MM reveals himself to the league I'll be pissed! just cause its so momentous . I'm guessing it is, because although Superman just stands there, Batman (and if this is the case the scene will certainly go down in history) seems to back away in fear. Yes the Dark Knight turns-tail . He's faced a lot of freaks, but never an alien. The scene is unforgettable and priceless, and a props to Timm for seizing the moment.

The rest plays out as more of what we saw in the trailer, The Flash cruising over the ocean with Green Lantern by his side was amazing (they seem to be in the midst of a debate, I love it), WW dropping out of the sky to protect the fallen Hawkgirl was beautiful! We know she deflects bullets in the next scene, and from the bios there's obviously tension between the aloof WW and the feral Hawk, so most likely this scene will have allot of weight.

What can I say, I wish I hadn't seen any of it out of context, but it dosn't change a thing, I have 87.8 more beautiful minutes to look forward to.

I pretty much agree with your assessment of the clip, Lucho, with two acceptions.

First, it appeared to me that Superman is still in a trance when Snapper snaps his fingers. There's no change of expression for Superman that I could see. He just flies off. In the following shot, Batman may be saying something along the lines off "Where the heck is HE going?" And I DO think that Supes is only in a trance. I don't know if Timm and company would go back to the well of 'Superman on the side of the bad guys' again. The last two times we've seen him (in "Legacy" and "The Call") he's been in the thrall of an alien menace. Will they go for a hat trick?

The other thing I had a little bit of a different take on is J'onn's first appearance. He looked as if he was morphing out of some other shape. I think your dead on as far as predicting that this was his first appearance. I wonder if that shot of Wonder Woman is her first face-to-face with the others, as well.

And has anyone else ever thought of the fact that if GL can keep up w/Flash while he's at a speed fast enough to run on water, that GL must be able to attain super-speed also?

Toddman, as for GL keeping up with Flash, I would imagine GL would only be limited by his mind as to what he could attain. Isn't that one of the things that makes GL so unique...the ability to use the power ring to manifest what is in his mind? At least, that's the way I understand it.
Man, after reading this thread, I'm even more excited for JL! How much longer now? 3 weeks or so? Too long to wait...

    Yeah, it is too long.

By the way, are all animated shows reviewed A MONTH in advance? It seems like that is a really long time for clips and spoilers to leak out. Most movies and TV shows are reviewed only a day or sometimes a week before they debut. What's the deal?

And I agree w/ you Kal-El about the abilities of GL's ring. It's just something that nags in the back of my brain. Wally's already competing with Superman and WW in the speed department, does he need anymore competition? Oh well, at least he's not faced with the same redundancies as Hawkgirl...

"So, Hawkgirl, you can fly? We've got four other members that can fly, too. Your an alien? We've got two of those. You're a detective? Covered. Female? Got one, already."

Just a quick comment on this:

Something similar was covered a year or two ago in THUNDERBOLTS, where we have Angel trying to stop a couple of the T-BOLTS. One member says "Wow, you can fly. So can I, among other things." But he just goes on to outmanuever her and the other flying member, because he's had so much training dealing with his flight.

I assume the same goes for Hawkgirl.

I hope to see some competition in the team. In the seires, the team will be BRAND new so there has to be some dynamics and conflicts. I am hoping to see a couple more races between the Flash and JL members.

I havent posted in awhile but after seeing this comment i felt id had to add my two cents of what I know aboutthe character

After seeing the clip serveral times( great clip I must add) it appears that the MM is morphing out of his natural green martian shape. By nature martians aren't as humanoid as aliens like Superman or Hawkgirl. They are built differently with almost dinosaur like apatures coming from there backs and very long heads and fingers(at least in the comics). The big, green, caped Manhunter is a form that he is able to assume and maintain for long periods of time.
