Here's a good Green Lantern question that came to mind while watching some taped episodes of Justice League:
Doesn't a Green Lantern have to sleep sometime while using his ring to travel long distances? Even using some kind of ring-induced warp technology, some galactic trips would take months, even years through space. Can a Green Lantern sleep while using his ring to travel?
(Note: I was watching "In Blackest Night", "War World", and "Hearts and Minds" when this question came to mind.)

I suppose since he while sleeping he couldn't will it to go off he would just float threw space asleep and then wake up. I don't think it is a matter if he could, I think it's if he should.Originally Posted by Squall
Depends on how the constructs work...is it like flipping a switch that stays on until you turn it off, or is it more like holding the trigger on a deadman switch?
I guess the G-Class cruiser in Hearts and Minds is what the Lanterns use for extended space travel.

I'm not sure if our exact answer is right there in black and white, but it does point out that they can create objects of permanence with a little more concentration. I guess if a GL tried hard enough to make some sort of spacecraft and set it on autopilot for his destination, he/she could catch a few winks before they got to where they were going.
