    more innuendos on BB

    Like This Thread!
i just saw "golem" again on thursday or wednesday (i don't remember, it has been a long of exams) and the following exchanged took place between nelson and blaze:

nelson: let's go for a ride.

blaze: you care about more your car than me.

nelson: who said anything about my car.

can it get more blatant than that? i don't understand WB sometimes; sometimes they are very strict to the point of being irrational and sometimes they let things like this slide. even this doesn't beat the other two times on TNBA. one is the one with roxy rocket in "the ultimate thrill" where batgirl says to batman, "Or she's still after the thrill. And now that she's had a taste of you, she's not going to settle for anything less." and how about this one also in "the ultimate thrill"

BATMAN: I thought you enjoyed risk.

ROXY: Oh, baby! You're the best! The ultimate thrill! The final stunt! Me and you! Yeah. . . Yeah. . ! YE-AH!

and the other one was in "mad love."

if i remember correctly, harley was in human sized cake and popped out of it and said, "Oh, come on, Puddin'! Don't you wanna rev up your Harley? Vroom vroom!"

i got these quotes from the worldsfinest page.

    Thought of one more--

    ...ORENTHAL:
....and the other one was in "mad love." if i remember correctly, harley was in human sized cake and popped out of it and said, "Oh, come on, Puddin'! Don't you wanna rev up your Harley? Vroom vroom!"
I think you're referring to "Beware the Creeper", actually. Harley appears out of a giant cream pie, singing a la Marilyn Monroe to The Joker and says seductively--if I recall the line right--"Wanna try (taste?) my pie?" One of my brother's friends was watching this with me, and he howled with laughter at what he took to be a dirty line. Some people...

And yes, I remember the discussion we had about "The Ultimate Thrill" and the look on Roxy's face as she and Batman plummetted...and the Freudian imagery of the rocket in the tunnel. Plus, as I've mentioned before, it looked like Olly was...well, you know...with that tuning fork to his head in "Babel".

You want to see some really dirty stuff, watch Sailor Moon sometime. There was one in which three women were playing Twister while their boss the evil Dr. Tomo looked up their skirts appreciatively and smiled. Not to mention that my brother claims the music on the soundtrack sounds like it was lifted off a skin flick.

my sincerest apoligies doctor, it was "beware the creeper." i haven't even considered the rocket as a phallic symbol. and the one in "babel," who could ever know a tuning could be used like that.

Well, the pie bit was from "Beware the Creeper," but you were also right in that the "Ride your Harley, vroom vroom" is from "Mad Love."

I guess that means you had more examples that you thought.

Actually isn't it "Rive up your Harley..." Oh well, we all knew what she meant.

you want sexual inuendo, look at how overly sexual they drew melanie in "dead man's hand". and ofcourse that guy from "disappearing ink" was doing some perverted things in inque's cryogenics chamber. but in the first season of stas there is SO much inuendo. i never noticed it untill cn started the repeats, but damn, they got alot past the censors. For great examples look at the first metallo ep where corbin basically goes mad because he realizes he cant feel sex anymore. and "a little piece of home" it is implied a bunch of times that mercy killed lots of people for lex.

but ofcouse, as mentioned, nothing beats roxy rocket's orgasm. and that wasnt even implied, that was completely acted out and everything.

YEAH, YEAH, YEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! oh roxy, you so crazy!

Yeah, there's some nice innuendo with Harley Quinn! But the first one I ever noticed in any of Timm's series was not in Batman but in Superman, when Lois first saw Superman and she said, "Nice S." I had to rewind the tape to make sure she didn't say what I thought she said!

I already sent him a PM! Thought I'd mention it, so his in box didn't get flooded with the same reply from everybody!

    Here's another--

In "Cult of the Cat", if I recall correctly, Catwoman slips into the Batmobile with a gang of thugs hot on her tail. Batman asks her what she's doing there, and she replies, "Mmmmmm. Just looking for a warm place to sleep."
Batman says, "I know a place."
She breaks into a wide smile that says, Hot d***!
    "Jail," Batman finishes.
Catwoman's face falls into a very sour look of disappointment.
    Dodgy, dodgy, dodgy.

That one got me too. Also, in THE MAIN MAN, Lobo says something about kicking his "red S." Sure the S is red, but so is his underpants. Well, it got me anyway.

Wow! The only thing I knew about these such innuendos in our Batman/Superman shows was that they were all over the place. But it wasn't until I see all these examples that I'm reminded it's an even bigger number than that! lol.

I may not count them, but I do like them when i see/hear them. Everytime I do it provides proof these shows are more adult (not talking about R rated of course) than they seem.

To me, that's just a sign of good writing in animation. The animators know the demographic for these shows (not just Batman and Superman, either. I am talking about any animated series that reaches adults as well) but they also know when they have something adults will enjoy, which is why I think they like to throw things in there that may go over kids' heads. This just a sign that they care about their show and the audiuence.

I agree. Besides, even for kids, there's nothing offensive in these "innuendos" (sorry I'm a little bit lost here... what exactly does the word mean?)... it's just a sign of intelligence and humor.

    Innuendo

Webster's defines the term as a "hint or insenuation, esp. a veiled reflection on character or reputation". That is to say, anything not overly fithy or profane, but a bit naughty. I learned the word "dodgy" from a Pokemon site, and I like to use it in these situations; it fits. I mean, it's all perception--some might not see Catwoman's "warm place to sleep" or Roxy's rocket in a tunnel or even Olly and his fork as being suggestive. Some might even consider us a bunch of d*** perverts.

Another dodgy bit in "Disappearing Inque": when her admirer asks what they're going to do to kill time, Inque says she has some idea in that direction. A pause. She grabs the remote and, looking bored, turns on the TV. I'm thinking, "Yeah, you'd just love that, wouldn't you, you nasty [expletive deleted]. This is KWB, not Cinemax, junior."
