Tieri & Chen leave 'Wolverine'
According to a report at X-Fan the current Wolverine creative team of Frank Tieri and Sean Chen will step down in early 2003, Tieri with issue #186, and Chen with #185.
"For once the rumor-mongers and wash women had it right - I am indeed leaving Wolverine," Tieri told X-Fan. "Sean and I were lucky enough to be on this book for over two years now, and we both felt the time was right to move on to do other things. Up until this point, I've spent my entire career working solely for Marvel (from intern to graphic designer to online editor to writer-some trip, huh?) but that's about to change. Though it's a little too early in the process to talk about yet, don't be too surprised if you see some work from yours truly with other comic companies - or if I don't explore some opportunities outside the industry altogether."
"I am moving on to another book but I can't say just what it is yet,” Chen said. “I was offered to be a rotating artist on one of the core X-books, but turned it down in favor of a smaller project with Axel Alonso since I have been liking the experience so far."
While Marvel has yet to announce a new regular creative team for the series, Greg Rucka and Darick Robertson are rumored to be in contention to fill the position following Daniel Way’s three-issue arc beginning with issue #187.

Oh. My. God. Rucka?! That would be a dream come true for me - one of my favorite characters and one of my favorite writers.
I've been trying out Tieri's run on Wolverine on and off for the past year or so, and its really been hit or miss for me. I won't mind seeing a chance in the line-up for this book, and Rucka would certainly be a nice replacement, IMO.
"With my feet upon the ground, I lose myself between the sounds
And open wide to suck it in, I feel it move across my skin.
I'm reaching up and reaching out, I'm reaching for the random, or what ever will bewilder me.
And following our will and wind we may just go where no one's been.
We'll ride the spiral to the end and may just go where no one's been.
Spiral out. Keep going"

Yay! Now I might actually read it. Nah, too much X-apathy here.
