I could really see a channel devoted to shows based on the comics. Such as:
Spider-Man
Justice League
Static Shock
SmallVille
Iron Man
Fantastic 4
Superman
Batman
That'd be a channel I'd watch.![]()
these days they got channels for every thing. news, cartoons, classic tv, video games, the list never stops. now, why doesnt some one make a comic channel? 24 hours devoted comics, one of the most important things. how would you see it?
DISCLAIMER: I am not bitter that I didn't get my Superman Returns sequel. My thoughts and opinions on Man Of Steel are (hopefully) completely objectional and unbiased. That said, Superman Returns is better.

It would be a channel that I would watch, but a channel with not very much on it.
There's a ton of things you could do with a channel like this. As already mentioned, you can have all the various cartoons and live-action shows that are/were based on comics. And then you've got all the comic character movies, both animated and live-action. And all the promo shows and behind-the-scenes shows that go with those movies. You could have "What's new this week" shows that highlight the new comics coming out each week, and give reviews of comics both old and new. You could have interview shows, where we get to know various comic creators. And of course there's all sorts of "how to" show possibilities - shows hosted by artists, writers, and other creators that share thier experiences in the industry and discuss their techniques. There are just so many interesting possibilities!

And following our will and wind we may just go where no one's been.
We'll ride the spiral to the end and may just go where no one's been.
Spiral out. Keep going"

Clayface,
All good ideas, but the fact remains. At this point, there simply are not enough episodes or various shows to fill up an entire day of programming, even with the intentions of having specials and reviews, and movies and behind the scenes stuff.
Maybe once Spider-Man, Hulk, Daredevil and all the ten thousand Marvel movies come out... that might take up a little more space on the schedules. But even then, after a month of this channel, it would be pretty old. Unless it only aired certain hours of the day and the remaining hours it was some sort of news network or QVC type of thing.
Even on this comic board, we don't have that much discussion about actual comics. How could you sustain an entire network that has to earn ratings and income, etc?

Hey, I'm just talking hypothetically here!
But the fact is, there are enough programs to run an entire station. Heck, half of the shows on Cartoon Network and Disney could technically be considered comic based - all Disney characters have had comic books at one time, then you've got the various Spider-man cartoons from years past, the various X-Men cartoons, the various Batman incarnations (both live-action and cartoons), the Superman incarnations (both live action and cartoons), the Justice League incarnations, Spawn, Maxx, Transformers, Thundercats, G.I. Joe, the numerous manga-based anime shows, Witchblade, Smallville, the upcoming Birds of Prey, Lois and Clark, etc, etc, etc. There are a ton of cartoons alone that could be considered comic-related, and then the live action shows on top of that. Of course, as I said, I'm speaking hypothetically, since geting the rights to air all of them would next to impossible.
And then add to that the comic movies, and the various types of shows I already mentioned above, and you've got yourself one heck of a station.
Yes, we don't have a whole lot of comic discussion on these boards, but we also don't have tons of comic creators here giving thier insights and interacting with the fans. As I said before, all the various how-to shows and interview shows would be incredibly interesting, and those are something you can't get here on the boards.
And let's not forget the various original programming they could come up with. How many times have we heard comic creators at conventions discuss how much they'd love to do an animated show based on thier creations? Well, this would be the perfect forum for them to do it on!
Certainly, the techinical aspects of how you pull all that off would be complicated and costly, but starting up any station is. And I'm not terribnly interested in discussing that aspect - just the possibilities!

I know I'd watch....
Man, how great would it be if they showed highlights from such conventions as Wizardworld or comicon for those fans who cannot travel all over the country - they could tape such segments from artists and writers and the directions they are taking for the various titles, it would be so interesting.
There are so many possibilities!
I am Vengeance,
I am the Night,
I AM BATMAN!
We could bring back the "Anti-Gravity Room!"
Man, I loved that show.
