WHAT? I didn't think he was that old....
News is in that writer Peter David suffered a stroke while on vacation with his family in Florida. His wife Kathleen is giving updates, and while no stroke is ever good news, it seems that PAD is doing as well as can be hoped for.
Sending good wishes his way. I loved his run on Hulk and while I've fallen out a bit with his tics and writing habits, he's still one of the writers I like more than not and I'm hoping for a good and speedy recovery.

Best of wishes to the David family as well. Last I heard PAD had no feeling on his right.
I know that fellow Marvel scribe Chris Claremont recovered from a stroke a few years ago, but you can never tell with these brain injuries. In any case, he had a great run.

And stay out of Riverdale!
Indeed, heck Frankie Muniz had a small stroke and he's only 2 years older than me. As for Peter that's tough to hear it sounds like it was a pretty rough one but luckily people have come back from strokes like that before and still able to live relatively comfortable lives. I didn't realize he was the same age as my dad.
Sadly I have not read any of Peter David's work. However, I do hope he goes through a fast recovery without any problems at all.
Please get well soon to Peter David. One of the all time greats.

Probably THE first Marvel writer that you would follow because he was writing the comic book, not because of the superhero on the cover...
Hope he has a speedy recovery.
PAD's wife Kathleen has been posting periodic updates on the PAD blog, with today's entry noting how you can help in PAD's recovery. Boils down to, "Buy some of his books," though books through Crazy 8 Press seem to be the ones that will get him the most revenue.
Well, I was looking for something new and cool to read anyway....
