I don't get any of this. You really think people are going to ask who's Superman? I'm pretty sure you can ask anyone who Superman is and they will know, that's common knowledge. Someone like Cyborg or Wonder Woman, who got more development, made more sense on that note. I also don't get how you say it's just fights interrupted by one liners, as this happens in pretty much every comic or cartoon featuring super heroes. I'm pretty confident Bruce Timm did this in his cartoons even. You think Wonder Woman didn't come off as innocent to the mortal world in this, how so exactly?

While I also enjoyed Morrison comics(can't say I read the one you refer too), the idea of this comic isn't to test the readers mind, this comic was designed for fans who have never picked up comics(BUT at least know of Superman and Batman and came out during the recent debut of the Green Lantern movie) and wanted to give DC a try. Geoff Johns intended on giving new fans a streamlined experience with this first volume and did just that. Jim Lee intended on making the art block buster and monumental and exiting to give people who never read comics to see just how explosive and amazing art looks on page and how comics can be just as good as cartoons and movies.
Your last comment about Geoff trying to make a Marvel book as Marvel really doesn't have a single type of book.
