I'm split on this comic. One one hand, I find it very clever occasionally and it's a hell of a lot better than most of the other newspaper strip dreck.

On the other hand, I'm not a big fan of misanthropic/cynical humor. I've never been a fan of George Carlin, Bill Hicks, any of that type of humor. Also, it seemed for a while that it was making a bailout joke EVERY SINGLE DAY FOR WEEKS ON END.

What do you think of it?

Wiley Miller just rubs me the wrong way. I don't know how old he is, but he strikes me as a grumpy old man who chain-smokes cigars in a rickety paint-peeled house and rants about everything. He's not funny, he's just arrogant.

He once went after webtoons, and Penny Arcade struck back, which was a great moment.

He just seems to have that "the watcher" type of thing going on, y'know? He's like "you're all idiots and I'm going to try to make sense of it with this comic strip of mine"

Since November 2008 my local paper the Chicago Tribune stopped carrying the Non Sequitur strip weekdays and runs it on Sundays only.

I don't think it's fair to say he's again webcomics. He made it clear that he wants webcomics to succeed...financially, since newspapers won't anytime soon. (He made it very clear, though, that the current PvP/Penny Arcade method won't work on everybody and that everyone should stop giving stuff away for free on the internet, which is something I agree with in some ways)

But yeah, he does tend to be a prick alot of the times, especially when it comes to the comic strip profession.

And as someone who posts on comic strip forums that Wiley also posts on, let me just say that you should NEVER, EVER discuss politics with him.
