    Comic character catchphrases?

    Like This Thread!
Catchphrases... they used to be frequently used by comic book characters, but nowadays, they've been mostly tossed aside in favor of (from what I saw in that "Teen Titans" comic I bought last week) figuring out ways of squeezing three uses of the word "hell" into one page (in the name of "being realistic" ;-) )...

That said, what catchphrases have we seen our favorite characters use over the years?

    To kick off:

    Superman:
"Great Scott!" - which he still sporadically used in the 90's, at least...
"Great Krypton!" - often used in 70's stories.
"Rao!" - guess not a catchphrase but more "taking the Kryptonian Lord's name in vain" type thing, also big in 70's comics.
"This is a job for Superman!"

    Flash:
"Great thunder!" - in Silver Age stories, though saw Jay Garrick use it as recently as the late 90's

    Green Lantern
"Great Guardians!" - more Silver Age usage.

    Wonder Woman:
    "Suffering Sappho!"
    "Hera, give me strength!"

Great topic! Here are my favorites (that were also my high school yearbook quotes):

"It's clobberin' time!" - The Thing

    "Titans Together!" - Teen Titans

    "Avengers Assemble!" - The Avengers

Also Thing likes to say "Sheesh" and "What a revoltin' development"
"And until we meet again boys and girls, know that wherever evil lurks in all its myriad forms, I'll be there with the hammers of justice to fight for decency and defend the innocent. Goodnight." - Batman

Ah, I remember "Great Shades of Elvis"---the catchphrase of the Perry White on "Lois and Clark" (which the comics tried to adapt as well---a mercifully short-lived attempt [can recall Perry yelling it during "Zero Hour" when he vanished due to wacky timestream-erasing hijinks...]).

    >>"Oh my stars and Garters" - Beast

Think he must've borrowed that one from Bullwinkle, since I recall him saying that. :-)

    More catchphrases:

    "Land's sakes!" - Ma Kent

    "Jeepers!" - Jimmy Olsen

"Old chum" - Batman (in the Golden and early Silver Ages, at least, with very rare usage in the 70's comics IIRC)

    "Leapin' lettuce!" - Captain Carrot
