DC COMICS FOR MARCH 2005
Here we go.
So, Ollie is Mayor. One Flash is alive and kicking while another is no place to be seen. Superman might be leaving Metropolis. We get introduced to Blue Beetle III. There's probably a new Batman, and if he's who we think he is, then there is a new Nightwing. And Aquaman gets an actually good redesign and might possibly be awesome this time! And Catwoman is probably nowSpoiler:

Buy "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?" on Vista DVD to help support Roger Rabbit's comeback.
And Robin's costume has been redesigned to eliminate the green and go all red and black, like the TNBA costume. I'm glad DC took my advice.![]()

One heck of a month: We finally get to find out what Jason has been up to all this time, Ollie takes up a position of power, we may even have a new Batman...Awesome!
I just hope Marvel is kind to me, with an inexpensive month. (Like that will happen)
Batman is GRINNING on the Detective Comics #817 cover. O_O;
i'm almost tempted to get every "one year later" comics. this shouldnt be much of a problem since i get almost half of the "year one later" comics anyway.
i like how the new robin costume no longer has the green "highlights". i just looked "awkward" when mixed with all black.
umm. his name is batman, he's been fighting crime in gotman for over 60 years. seriously, bruce wayne IS batman. here's my logic as to why (or why they shouldnt have made someone else batman if indeed bruce wayne is no longer batman): its very simple actually. with the success of batman begins, movie fans may want to check out the comics. i'm sure some don't know whats been going on in the comics these days and for the most part "don't know any better". they'll go to the nearest place to purchase comics and pick up the newest issue of batman. assuming that the "basic" characters, elements, ect from begins and other movies and tv shows as well are in this comic. too many new readers will get confused and will most likely not want to spend time catching up on all the crisis stuff. a new reader should have the luxury seeing something that is remotely similar to what they saw on film or tv. granted they were already confused since the current batman comics today dont have much resemblance to whats on screen or what they already know (gordon retired, red hood arc, batman wanted by the police, nora fries as a villian, the list doesnt end). i guess thats why we still have legends of the dark knight though. It’s One Year Later…and who is the mysterious vigilante who’s been keeping Gotham free of crime?
does anyone think it was wise to post spoilers in the solicitations?

The Blue Beetle cover establishes gender, if nothing else.
"He lived hard and died stupid."
When did Hawkman comic become Hawkgirl? Or is that a clue to a certain male winged warrior???
Also, what has been confirmed about the aftermath of this Crisis (ie-who dies).
Hawkman becomes Hawkgirl with issue 50.Originally Posted by DR.MID-NITE

Howdy,
I can't escape the conclusion that "One Year Later" == "New Boss, Same as the Old Boss." However, the good news is that I'm already seeing a positive benefit to DC and Marvel's publishing strategies, since I've spent less on comics for two months running now.
Random highlights:
- Jock's cover to Nightwing #118 is really cool. Not cool enough to get me to buy it, but it's cool.
- Batman: Dark Detective gets a trade paperback. I liked the series fine, but not enough to double-dip for it. Still, those of you who missed the mini might want to give it a shot.
- I'm curious about Kurt Busiek on Aquaman and totally uninterested in the new Superman stuff. I'm pretty sure it's not the presence of Geoff Johns on Superman, since I don't feel very strongly about him one way or the other. Maybe I'm just trying to fill the giant void in my soul after Busiek left Conan.
- Now that Crisis-related stuff has settled down, I may take a crack at Stuart Moore's Firestorm. Anybody here reading it?
- I would be excited about Walt Simonson on Hawkgirl, except I really hated his bridging run on Wonder Woman between Phil Jimenez and Greg Rucka.
- It's a cool cover, but how is Wonder Woman keeping her top on in the cover to JLA: Classified #19?
- That's a mighty nice one for Legion of Super Heroes #16, too.
- I knew Seven Soldiers was going to be big, but the fact that we'll get two relatively big TPBs and still not see the end of the Zatanna story arc, to say nothing of Frankenstein, the Bulleteer, or Mister Miracle, is reminding me exactly how big it really is.
- New Ex Machina TPB, which makes me happy 'cuz I switched to TPB-only after the "Tag" story arc.
- Red Sonja/Claw the Unconquered #1. Since Dynamite Entertainment seems to have precious little to do with this release (how to tell: the creative team and the fact that there's only 1 alternate cover), I may pick this up. However, if they're co-publishing the way DC and Marvel did JLA/Avengers, I think I'm gonna wait for the trade, and then maybe forget to buy the trade.
- The biggest pleasant surprise is a trade paperback of Hellblazer: Lady Constantine, by Andy Diggle and Goran Sudzuka. I have the issues, but given the slim pickings this month, I'll be happy to double-dip for it. Plus, you gotta love that Phil Noto cover, even if I think it was for one of the issues.

just thought of this:
Bruce Wayne will always be Batman. You would have to have in your head the Knightfall series and what would happen once someone new was Batman; brutal and insaniness. Plus I doubt he would be commissioner, since he would be fighting the bad guys while trying to hide his secret to cops he's suppose to be with during these situations.
Nightwing will always be Dick Grayson, plus its an identity Dick created by himself and theres nothing even now that says that he should retire. Also, Jason and Dick today hate each other. Why would Nightwing give the mantle to someone who not only does he hate, but is violent?
Tim Drake, like the others, will be Robin. The idea of someone new coming in very quickly without anything known about himself to us in an origin storyline despite the fact its OYL is very dumb. The costume change might be just half and half of Robin and his mentor: Batman. And it might be just some symbolism to Batman from Robin's mind. Might be due to events from INFINITE CRISIS...
However, as sad as I'am, look at these covers:
