This was voted book of the year by Wizard, which makes me curious to read it. But does anyone know if this particular 400-page collection will eventually be released on paperback? If so, I would wait.

The HC is a special dealie that I don't think will be released in paperback. There are six TPBs of Invincible which cover the first 30-odd issues of the series, available easily through your local shop, bookstore, or from Amazon.com (volume one, two, three, and four). I believe the Ultimate HC contains up to TPB 3 or 4, but with Amazon.com's discount, you'd actually spend less money just buying the hardcover, and you'll get it oversized and with the DVD extras. Buy through the links in this post and TZ gets a referral bonus at no added cost to you.

If it turns out you hate it, the HC seems to sell pretty well on eBay (he said, having lost a few auctions trying to win one...).
