How do you think he would react? Did he ever meet Darkseid in the comics?

darkseid would hand batman his bat-butt

sorry batman fans, but darkseid lacks that kryptonite weakness you all seem to think that allows bats to beat sups, and supes has lost to darkseid before

Not to mention Darkseid has them Omega beams. One blast there, and Batman's toast. Even if he was able to dodge them (which, btw, is impossible if Darkseid is even trying), Darkseid has this thing called super-strength. The guy's tougher than Superman. So Bat-gizmo could take down Darkseid.

Of course, Batman would stand no chance against Darkseid in combat. Realistically, though, neither would Superman.

Batman HAS encountered Darkseid in the comics, however; and what he did was play mind games on Darkseid, exploiting his arrogance and vanity.

That must have been an interesting encounter. I wish I could have seen that conversation. *Must find back issues*.

I was gonna mention that, but it falls under the category of "possible-future-that-has-since-been-erased," and you know how people feel about THAT...

Still, heckuva story. Get the TPB. Batman's encounter with Darkseid was awesome, but not nearly as cool as his encounter with Desaad. Oh, and you absolutely MUST see the role Green Arrow and the Atom play. That MADE this the best JLA story for me.

Still, it is in continuity, so to speak. It wasn't retconned, it was actively prevented from happening by the characters involved. Hence, it still is canon with regard to judging the characters capabilities.

Didn't Batman meet up with Darkseid in another series as well? There was this mini-series called "Cosmic Oddessy" - sort of DC version of "The Infinity Gauntlet". I remember both Batman and Darkseid were in it, but I don't remember if they went head-to-head.

Desaad has no superpowers. Batman would show Desaad the true meaning of pain.
