    Alex Ross' 9-11 cover

    Howdy all,

Just a quick question to you all out there. I loved the rough pencil sketch I saw of Alex Ross' cover for 9-11, but didn't see the finished cover until today.

Does anybody else think the "Wow" bubble really kind of ruins the whole effect? I thought it was a powerful and moving image in the rough pencil sketch, but IMO the word bubble really disrupts the whole thing. Am I just really in desperate need of a valium on this?

Good to see Krypto again, though.

I'm gonna move this to the Batman/Superman forum.

I'm not fond of that "wow" bubble either, but it can work both ways. It can work that he's appreciating these heroes (with the balloon) or can stand in silent awe, with no balloon (as it should have been).

The "wow" ballon is a huge mistake. Silent awe would be more fitting indeed. And I think that superdog does not suit the picture either...
