Superman Batman question - New Toyman?? (SPOILERS)

    Like This Thread!
I just picked up and read the hardcover Superman Batman 1-6. Awesome read btw. At the end of that arc the new Toyman built that Superman Batman rocket.

I picked up issue 7 when it came out and Toyman was introduced in that issue w/ Superboy and Robin. They had to convince Toyman to work for Batman.

    So my question is:
Is issue 7 a prequel to the Superman Batman series? It has to be cause the Toyman is already working for Batman at the end of 6

To answer your question, no: #7 takes place right between #6 and #8, meaning no, it's not a "prequel" to the series.

The Toyman was introduced in #6, as the creator of the giant Superman-Batman robot.

In #7, Superboy and Robin convince him to go to work for Batman, creating new equipment and vehicles, and maintaining the current equipment; a position held at one point by the diminuitive and mute, but brilliant, Harold, until the position was... well, vacated when Harold was murdered by Hush.

So, no. Superman/Batman #7 takes place in the "present day."
    Rules to live by.
Any arguments to the contrary will be subsequently mocked and possibly nya-nya'd at.

Maybe I missed something when I read it cause I did read it in one sitting while watching TV.

So the new Toyman (the Japanese kid) just decided to build this Superman Batman rocket using Wayne Enterprise money? It seemed like he was already working for Batman and knew about Bruce/Batman.

Maybe I just need to reread everything. haha

In Superman/Batman #6, Batman and Superman ask Hiro [Toyman] if they know where Jack Corben [Metallo] is. At the end of S/B #7, after the battle between Robin and Superboy against Metallo, Superman and Batman catch him. They wouldn't need to know his location if they already have him in custody.

There was also a line from Hiro that went something like "It's the best rocket your, well, WayneTech's money can buy. Not sure how you linked into those megabucks, but the check cleared." which would leave us to believe that Hiro has yet to enter Batman's employment and/or known his identity.
