Sure, it's just for control over the vast world of ad space, but a partnership of any kind between DC and Archie Comics is as strange as the time The Punisher visited Riverdale.

According to The Wall Street Journal, DC has entered into a revenue-sharing plan with Archie Comics, which will allow DC to completely control a base of at least 20 titles and a circulation of 1.3 million total copies each month by 2005. This agreement will allow DC and Archie to form a "tag-team" of ad space aimed to compete against the younger/tween magazine world of Nickelodeon Magazine, Disney Adventures, National Geographic Kids, and their ilk. The Presidents of both DC and Archie have stated that this is not the first step in a much larger partnership or a takeover of Archie by DC.
