    Marvel's THANOS book

    Like This Thread!
Is it just me or has this book become PAINFULLY bad since the departure of Starlin again?

Starlin is the only one I trust to write for Thanos, and this current plot is not only going nowhere, but is stupid. The Beyonder, in TWO MAXI-SERIES UNIVERSE-WIDE CROSSOVERS was a male. Why make his seemingly "natural" form Female? Also, he was NOT the creator of the universe, but was the entirety of ANOTHER universe who was alerted to the existance of our own by the origin of Molecule Man.

What they are doing with this title now is drivel, and I hope it stops shortly.

I'll likely keep purchasing it until the end of this arc and I'll try the first issue or two of the next, but I doubt if it keeps me much longer than that.

It sure hasn't been great. I have no idea what Giffen is trying to pull with the Beyonder but I sure don't like it. This current arc is slightly incoherent and disappointing. As soon as Starlin was fired, I knew the title would go down hill. However, I'll keep purchasing Thanos until it gets cancelled, which will probably happen quite soon.

Incoherent is a good word. Heck, I had no idea who the Beyonder even was! The fact that the character is now female didn't bother me, since I had no idea the character was originally male. But just not knowing who the character was, and not being given enough info in the context of the story to figure it out left me feeling cold. I don't think I'm even going to finish out this arc.

We'll ride the spiral to the end and may just go where no one's been.

I don't think it's all that bad, but I see your point.

However, I should mention that the Beyonder did turn female in the pages of Fantastic Four.
Beyonder & Molecule man formed Cosmic Cube at the end of that big storyline by Engelhart and a "woman" named KOSMOS eventually popped out. Bagley drew the "hatching" scene in a fill-in issue of FF.

    Writer was Len Kaminski

The issue was a fill-in near the end of the Simonson run.

Now, see, its things like this that make me yearn for the days when comics would include a little footnote at the bottom of the page filling you in on details like this. Would it have killed them to give us a footnote that said *The Beyonder became a woman in FF #351!*? No.

It was doomed when they announced Starlin was going off the book.
He seems like the only writer capable of writing cosmic stories involving characters like Thanos.
