    Favorite Comic series?

    Like This Thread!
I'm sure we have a number of comic collectors in here, so...

What are some of your favorite comic series?

Johnny the Homicidal Maniac will forever be #1 on my list.
I also like Squee..cute lil' kid.
Lenore? I just started reading it..I like it very much.

Aside from Slave Labor Graphics productions...

I haven't been following it much, but I've been enjoying the new X-men series.
    I love any/all the spider-man series.
    The Tick! yes..the Tick.

As for Manga, since any otaku would probably kill me for including it with american titles..

Inu-yasha. Probably my favorite right now..
The entire TENCHI series..better than the show, & I loved the show.

Anyway, what drags you into the comic shops?

My tremendous intuitive sense of the female creature informs me that you are troubled...

    My faves are old stuff

    Fantastic Four (esp. Byrne)

Excalibur (Chris Claremont and/or Alan Davis runs)

Captain Britain TPB is very good too, the new one with the classic Fury storyline should be coming out soon so be sure to pick it up! I've only read a little more than the second half but I can tell you it is an excellent story by Alan Moore w/art by Alan Davis!

Now, this is a question of mammoth proportions!

I have to remember what I get every month to be able to determine my favorite.

Now, this time last year, no contest, my favorite book was Deadenders. That was amazing stuff.

Right now I'm really liking Daredevil, Green Arrow, and Lucifer. So anyone of those could be considred my favorite.

    SONIC THE HEDGEHOG!

Until recently, when the quality dropped GREATLY, it had believable plots, good characterzation, excellent art (see covers from issue 30-today for an example) and a loyal fanbase fun to hang out with.

This series still can't be beat...
Signature. A noun. It is, in internet terms, a series of words, phrases, and pictures at the end of every post used to make posts more fun to look at and show the user's uniqueness.

    ....I wish I had a decent one.

The Adventures of Barry Ween, Boy Genius, because I want a COMIC comic book. In manga, I prefer the PBCs. I have Ranma 1/2 and the bilingual editions of Card Captor Sakura.

    Favorite Comic series

By far, my favorite comic series has to be Spiderman. Spiderman is cool. He is a smart ass. And he's funny. Plus, he's got problems most of us can relate to on a normal level.

Nice to see another Excalibur fan. At it's best, this was a fantastic and refreshing X-Title with Captain Britian proving to be one if the most interesting hero/anti hero in the marvel universe.

I'd add to my list Spider-Man, Judge Dredd, Nikolai Dante (both 2000ad series') and ol' Bats who do enjoy the occasional read...

Cerebus. Even if I stopped buying comics all together, I would still get Cerebus.

    Jeez, another tough question...

Erm, how about the following top ten:

    1) Captain Britain/Excalibur
    2) American Flagg
    3) Batman Adventures/Gotham Adventures
    4) John Byrne's Fantastic Four,
as well as his runs on X-Men, Alpha Flight, and Avengers
    5) 2000 ADs Halo Jones, Judge Dredd, Zenith,
    and ABC Warriors
    6) Battle comics' Charley's War
    7) Steranko's Nick Fury
(y'know, back when he was allowed to smoke...)
    8) Marvel UK's Death's Head
    (the first version.)
    9) GI Joe/Action Force comics
(yeah, I know, I'm old enough to know better, but I can't help it...)
    10) League of Extraordinary Gentlemen,
as well as Alan Moore's runs on Wild CATS and his Watchemen and Tom Strong series'.

PHEW!!! Ok, A bit more than a top ten there, but that's the creme-de-la-creme for me! A lot of British stuff in there as well - I wonder how many of you have even heard of 'Charley's War, let alone read it!!!

    Thanks for listening!!!
