What's happening with the latest Super-Girl?

Does anyone know the latest news on her? All I know is up the point where Bats and Supes find her ship. Is she something worthwhile or did they bomb with the execution again like with Cir-el?

And before anyone complains, yeah it sucks that there's so many Super-Girls and they can't settle on any of the good ones who did last for a good, relatively long time or fixing the ones who left shortly. Not much we can do.

Cir-El has, apparently, been wiped out from existence due to the mind-numbing issue that was SUPERMAN #200. It is possible she was created to aid the Strange New Visitor and upcoming Godfall storyline by Joe Kelly, Michael Turner and Talent Caldwell, but nothing outside my own personal theories can prove it.

As far as the new Supergirl goes, from what I have gathered from an interview with Jeph Loeb, DC wanted to create a brand new Supergirl to establish into the DCU. Its going to be another headache as to who she is, where she came from and if she will be getting her own series. Besides little tidbits and rumors spewing across the internet, little information has been given about her.

Any particular reason they couldn't just stay with the modern day Linda Danvers that supported a series for over 70 issues (last I checked), or is was that another bone-headed mistake by the execs?

I think once Identity Crisis comes along there will only be three or two Supergirls, hopefully. You know the rest of the DCAU is pretty good overall but the Supes universe needs a kick in the ass by a good ol' crisising.
