DC price increases in April

Prices on the following DC titles are going up this April:

Action Comics by 25¢ to $2.50
Adventures of Superman by 25¢ to $2.50
Batman: Gotham Knights by 20¢ to $2.95
Detective Comics by 20¢ to $2.95
Fallen Angel by 45¢ to $2.95
Superman by 25¢ to $2.50

The Superman increases make sense, since the new creative teams will result in much higher sales and DC wants to cash in on that. The Gotham Knights and Detective increases are pretty annoying; I'd rather have them drop that backup features and make them $2.50 each. Fallen Angel's increase is almost certainly the kiss of death for that title.

To their credit, DC is releasing several $9.95 trade paperbacks in the next few months that are significant bargains compared to the individual issues: Batman: Gotham Central (#1-5), Human Target: Strike Zones (#1-5), The Losers: Ante Up (#1-6), Smallville (#1-4 & Special #1), and Teen Titans: A Kids's Game (#1-7).

ACK! Don't say that! I certainly hope it isn't - Fallen Angel is probably one of my absolute favorite DC books right now, and I'm going to be terribly disappointed if it gets cancelled. I'll certainly pay the hiked-up cost for that book because its worth it.

Agreed. I don't even read the black and white stories anymore, and the only 'Tec back-ups that were interesting were the four Slam Bradley shorts. Sigh, and I thought 2.75 was too much.
