Looks like this episode will center on Beast Boy. My least favorite of the Teen Titans.
Hopefully Starfire and/or Raven will save the show with some funny dialogue.
BTW, your sig rules, Matt.
T! E! E! N! TIT! ANS! TEEN! TIT! ANS! LET'S GO!
It's time for CN/WBA's brand new action/comedy series, Teen Titans. Robin, the lesser experienced but sturdy leader of the group. Cyborg, the brawns and style. Starfire, teh n00bz with teh b00bz. Beast Boy, the somewhat cocky, somewhat panicy shape-shifter. And Raven, a person you don't want to get near. Together, they form an elite group of something or others, who fight adults-- er I mean, fight evil before bedtime-- er I mean... they...do........ something.
Tonight's episode: Elemental villains rain on the Titan's parade. Sorry, that was the least punny synopsis I could think of.

That guy with the hat = rip of the I-Jin leader from Read or Die.

Did Beast Boy turn into a Yak?
That episode proves to me that Teen Titans should never try to be serious ever again. Leave the bland dramatics for Justice League.
They were actually trying to be serious?Originally Posted by Matt Wilson

Milnif? Sounds a bit too much like a certain other word...

Seeing a fig tree by the road, he went up to it but found nothing on it except leaves. Then he said to it, "May you never bear fruit again!" Immediately the tree withered.
GOD HATES FIGS
It's what I ask of Justice League too..They were actually trying to be serious?
Martian Manhunter's "Nooooo!" at the end of War World Pt. 1 was the funniest moment in the series. Worst attempt at drama ever. Well, worst line delivery too.
While Beast Boy was a cat I thought I saw him rubbing against StarFire's ahem, breasts.
Interesting episode, but not up to Sisters. Slightly better then Final Exam.
Was it just me, or did anyone notice that the Teen Titans were fighting the Thunder Brothers from Inu Yasha?

No, it was definetely the Thunder Brothers.Originally Posted by Obi
This episode just about made me give up on the whole series. This show just seems to get more bland and unwatchable every week. And I swear to god, if I hear Robin utter one more hackneyed action movie trailer catch phrase, I'm going to reach through my television screen, grab him by the neck, and choke the living crap out of him.
Thunder, Lightning and Fire Burn In The Teen Titans Episode Review of "Forces Of Nature".
I couldn't be exactly sure, but I think Thunder and Lightning were from the Teen Titans comic book, so they originated first, but in the cartoon version, that is a very good comparison. You got one arrogant brother who is after having the best time he possibly can (which was like Hiten from Inuyasha) and you had the other brother who had a bit more character development and was the less powerful but bigger brother. Not to mention that in both series they had a special bond with each other. Anyway, I liked Thunder and Lightning. Lightning may have been a bit over the top, but I liked Thunder's code of honor (not attacking a fallen opponent) and realizing how wrong there "fun" is. Hmmm, that other Element guy obviously works for Slade, but he seems to have some personal connection to Robin as well. Anyone know who he could really be. Lot's of nice action scenes and comedy moments (espically Beast Boy's plan to get back at Cyborg and Cyborg sneaking behind him, and Starfire's Giant Head Moment and use of alien language) makes me give this episode an A-. Looking forward to Next Week's episode, but I'm espically looking forward to "Nevermore" the episode after next weeks. Looks to be very good. Was it just me, or did anyone notice that the Teen Titans were fighting the Thunder Brothers from Inu Yasha?
I thought I saw that, too.Originally Posted by Animation Otaku
Mm.. nah... Must of been the angle.
I'm glad that this episode was better than "Divide and Conquer" and the facial expressions didn't seem out of place.
Pro:
+ Beast Boy's little "joke" at the beginning.
+ The FACE. Aw.
+ Rock BGM during most battle sequences with Thunder.
+ Villains that aren't purposely evil?
+ Starfire's curses.
Con:
- Lightning.
- Reuse of animation during the rain.
- Villains not very interesting..
I think this episode was just as good as Final Exam but not perfect like Sisters. And so far none of the villains' character designs are as interesting as Jinx's.
4.5 / 5.
This was an okay episode. I thought of the Thunder Brothers from Inuyasha as well. Similar mass and attitude and all. I had a feeling the other guy was Slade, beside the voice. It was that one eye... Stars holding BB as a little kitty... draw from it what you willThe symbol on the fire guys head. I thought it'd be better if it was the Kanji for fire. Or did the symbol have some meaning I'm not getting?
I thought that was a pretty good episode. I love the part where Beast Boy did the cute eyes kitty. That was so cute.![]()
Did anyone notice in the next episode preview that some of the small robots, including one that was crawling on Cyborg, looked like the little robot (well, little at first) from episode 6 of Fooly Cooly?
Definitely the weakest episode so far. What I found interesting was the mythological feel I got from it. It felt like one of those ancient Roman stories about gods and good vs. evil.
Should the series go in this direction? No.
