Samurai Jack DVD & Theaterical Movie news

DVD Update
I had talked to some people about the possibility of Samurai Jack coming to DVD, and it is most likely. The first one will no doubt be the first few episodes that establish Jack's orgins. There has been no talk of additional DVDs after the first one. This is because unlike an anime series or other licensed properties, Cartoon Network has the full control over Samurai Jack. They don't have to sign a deal that binds them to release an entire season (although they would ideally). A good example of this is how PPG was released.....random episodes the creators (and the fans in an online poll, earlier this year) simply picked.

Movie Update
Well as for the movie, its very likely. Right now they are waiting for the numbers for the upcoming Powerpuff movie before they even start production. Scripts are being tossed around, but thats it.

So there is a little update from me, to you.

The DVD news is good...I'll finally get to see the first eppy! But then I'll want to see more...so they better come up with more DVDs!

But I'm STILL scared about the movie...though admitedly a little more hopeful with this DVD talk and the apparent fact that Jack is becoming more well known in the animation world. Here's hoping it goes well when it comes out.

I'm not so much scared about a movie, but for now, it's gonna take a little time for the masses. SJ isn't a "household" name yet.

2 years down the line would be about the right time to start, if so, as by then, the 3rd season would be wrapped up.
