Bumping this thread up, so people can see it. Yay.
Since the Toon Zone Forums will be closed until the next day, I've decided to put up the talkback thread to the second of five new episodes of Time Squad. This week, it's "Day of the Larrys" and "Old Timers Squad".
NOTE: I don't want anyone posting anything on this thread until the forums open again (this is a note to everyone).

i wish i could have seen this episode...
but the stupid brother of mine didn't off the power on the vcr so it would record
sigh... oh well, i'll have to be there when it comes on again...
Wise words from Dennis:
Diet Pepsi won't make you skinny.
Country singers support alcoholism.
Women's magazines destroy families.
I loved "Day of the Larrys", but I thought "Old Timers Squad" was probably closer to average (but...strange). I think I'll elaborate my opinions later, when more people reply.
Plus, this comment bumps up the topic again.
*sits and waits*
"And what's happened to Earth?"
"Ah. It's been demolished."
"Has it," said Arthur levelly.
"Yes. It just boiled away into space."
"Look," said Arthur, "I'm a bit upset about that."

Hello, I'm back. After a cold kept me out of commission yesterday, I can finally put up my review of last week's Time Squad:Originally Posted by Maii

Well believe me when I say...YIPPIE! I'M RICH! and to further add, BLING, BLING! 11/10 (It's right up there with the one about Shakespeare making kiddie plays!)
Old Timers Squad: This was a very strange episode. I mostly laughed at the old Otto because he sounded like Bobby Hill from "King of the Hill"...if he were an old man. And I chuckled when the Old Tuddrussel couldn't remember his catch phrase. But all in all, this was a very strange episode, but Day of the Larrys may have ruined my childhood innocence forever. 9/10
It seems to me that most people missed this episode and I feel sorry for them.![]()
All I have to say is that I hope you catch it in reruns.

Oh, the ending to that ep. was depressing...but still I laughed. As for Old Timers' Squad, I loved this line:Originally Posted by Meow

Old Otto: You ain't never gonna make the basketball all-stars, that's for sure!

*gets up*
I think I'll start now. *ahem*

Firstly, since I'm saving what I consider the best for last...
"Old Timers Squad"
This is a weird, weird, episode.
The members of Time Squad all eventually getting addicted to a soap opera is pretty funny, not to meantion that the soap opera in question really did sound like a stereotypical one.
Okay, how many of you laughed when you saw the future Larry with a beard? Be honest! And he can urinate for some reason too... Creepy.
Future Tuddrussel is just a plain forgetful old man. Nothing too special, except that he can't remember his own catch phrase.
Otto's future self was a riot! He reminds me of my grandfather, what with all the silly grandfatherly jokes. It's kinda sad that Otto will never grow taller than he already is. Of course, maybe he did grow a little, only to shrink in old age.
Samuel Morse's voice sounds familiar, like the voice actor tried to imitate someone famous. Any ideas, or am I just crazy and starting to hear things?
After watching it over again, I've changed my mind about it being average. Maybe a 7 1/2 out of 10.
"Day of the Larrys"
Oh gads...I think I had my mouth gapeing open from the time Otto opened the door to find the multiple Larrys, to the end of the episode. That was...whoa...Originally posted by candy17

But let's start at the beginning.
Okay, you've really got to feel for Larry in this one. If I had lived with two people that could turn an entire room into that much of a mess in only a few seconds...I would have gone postal a looong time ago.
Does anyone know what that little doodle next to Larry's head in his picture is? I know what the writing says, but I don't know about that other thing.
The look on Tuddrussel's face when he saw all those Larrys was pure gold! He looked so lost and frightened... Then he vomited. Poor guy.
Okay. The disco. Am I the only one reminded of that episode of the Simpsons with the steelworkers? Probably.
The Larry dressed up as a cowboy. I don't think I'll even go there. All I expected was Tuddrussel to take the guns away from him and the Larry-clone to walk away dejectedly, but noooooooo! Don't get me wrong, I liked that part, but I just didn't see it coming.
I know I said I don't believe in spoilers, but...
WARNING! Spoilers for a future episode! (kind of)
Spoiler:
Ahh. The ending. That was one hilariously evil laugh! *chuckles* Who wants to bet that the clone Larry frantically went to try and find the real one after finding out he was assigned more chores?
This one definately deserves a 10 out of 10.

Man that was long! I hope I didn't bore any of you to death.

That's for sure. This made "Planet of the Flies" look normal.Originally Posted by Maii
Okay, I did (even if it was weird and out of place), but for the most part there was a lump in my throat from seeing the future Tuddrussel as a pathetic old man. Since I can let out my feelings in the Toon Zone Forums, I'd like to share my emotions about this in a healthy, mature manner:Okay, how many of you laughed when you saw the future Larry with a beard? No! Not Tuddrussel! Not my sexy studmuffin! *sobs* Couldn't he just have some muscles in old age? *sniveling*
*sigh* That felt good. Next!
Oh, yeah, that was funny. Does anyone else notice that 1) the old Otto's voice sounded like an elderly Bobby Hill from "King of the Hill" and 2) shouldn't Otto be frightened about that he's going to turn out like that?Otto's future self was a riot! He reminds me of my grandfather, what with all the silly grandfatherly jokes. It's kinda sad that Otto will never grow taller than he already is. The first part with the soap opera hit really close to home for me since my sister Angel and mother are soap opera fans. The story was a little weak, but ain all, this was a bizarre episode that could kick "Planet of the Flies"'s butt any day of the week. 8.5/10
My mouth was gaping open on the disco sequence. The CN censors must have been high or really, really stupid, because if Time Squad were on any other channel, that part would have been deleted...or worse: The entire episode would have never gotten past the storyboard (I'm not supporting censorship, BTW. I'm just surprised that CN could air a sequence that has more of a home on Adult Swim outside of AS)."Day of the Larrys"
I think I had my mouth gaping open from the time Otto opened the door to find the multiple Larrys, to the end of the episode.
I feel for Larry on every episode. That first part is no different.Okay, you've really got to feel for Larry in this one. If I had lived with two people that could turn an entire room into that much of a mess in only a few seconds...I would have gone postal a looong time ago.
Gold's too cheap. How 'bout silver? The look on Tuddrussel's face when he saw all those Larrys was pure gold!![]()
Oh, man. Even if Tuddrussel does treat Larry like scrap metal, I almost felt sorry for him on that part. Notice how I said almost. He looked so lost and frightened...Then he vomited. Poor guy.
Not anymore, you're not. Did you happen to notice that the club was called Studio 3K (which is a play on the infamous nightclub of the 1970's Studio 54)? To top it off, the bouncer that told the real Larry to shove off was wearing a cap with the letters NY on them and didn't have that high, gay Joker from "Batman: TAS" voice. The disco. Am I the only one reminded of that episode of the Simpsons with the steelworkers?
You want my advice, Maii: Just be thankful the disco wasn't a strip club.![]()
![]()
Oh, wait scratch that...
How'd... I...Wha...(*clears throat, blows into pitch whistle, tries to scream*): AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Whew! That felt good. Just when you thought Time Squad could not get any more demented than it already is...I mean, what brought that on?The Larry dressed up as a cowboy. I don't think I'll even go there.
Anyway, my sister loves this part, much to my chagrin. If I ever told her that......she would have had me institutionalized...or she would have disagreed with me. It's moments like this that make me wonder why...Spoiler:
Hey, you're not alone. I expected that too, but if that were chosen, it would have been too predictable...All I expected was Tuddrussel to take the guns away from him and the Larry-clone to walk away dejectedly, but noooooooo!
Anyway, here's something to think about this part:Spoiler:
I don't think anyone saw that coming.Don't get me wrong, I liked that part, but I just didn't see it coming.
Yeah. Flashback to the Joker. The ending. That was one hilariously evil laugh! *chuckles*
Before or after he cried? And that iris-out reminded me of how the old WB cartoons ended (because TS would usually end with a fade to black).Who wants to bet that the clone Larry frantically went to try and find the real one after finding out he was assigned more chores?
Like I said before, I'm giving this one an 11/10.

AAGGH! Green everywhere!
It's been a few days since I've been here... but seriously, CookieS, it looks good (I love the new title graphic. Thundercat, ho!).
Anyway, I was among the few who missed this one, and I'll just say this: if CN cuts any scenes from "Day of the Larrys"... well, no threat's going to do any good.
So please, please, please, CN, leave everything intact for the next airing! I must see the billyuns and billyuns of Larrys at the disco!
(Okay, maybe there aren't that many Larrys, but I just wanted to say "billyuns and billyuns of Larrys".)
Okay, who are you ToonZone Forum people and why do you keep looking here? I don't look at your page! Know what you are? Well, I'm lookin' right at ya and I can tell you what you are! You're a bunch of pathetic adults hunched in front of computers who think that CARTOONS are a superior form of entertainment! What a bunch of LOSERS! And I'm lookin' right at y--
Umm, nevermind. That was the mirror.

CN has not cut anything out of any rerun of "Time Squad" (I know because when I started to watch the series, the episodes I taped were reruns aired at ungodly hours like 1:00 am or 6:00 in the afternoon), so I seriously doubt they'll edit out that sequence.Originally Posted by Novdeloth

Sorry to bring up this post but I came here to tell you "Don't despair. On May 23rd at 11:30 at night, you'll be able to see it." That goes for anyone else who missed it.Originally Posted by Numbuh 4
