Kids Next Door Talkback: Operation Q.U.I.E.T and Operation R.A.I.N.B.O.W.S

    Like This Thread!
Well, Since no one else did it and the episode's airing right now, I will have the Talkback for the KND new episode this week. So review away in this thread!

I'll start off. Operation Q.U.I.E.T was very good. The return of Lizzie (From L.I.Z.Z.I.E) Triple extra large (From The Kenny and The Chimp Short and A.R.T.I.C), Angry Adolescent (C.A.K.E.D) the Common Cold (T.O.M.M.Y) and Stickybeard (P.I.R.A.T.E). And how they used the continuity from their previous encounters as a stepping stone to this one. Other good parts were Numbah 4 as Numbah 1 (And Numbah 3 Heckling him about it), all of Numbah 5's efforts to keep the Treehouse quiet, and that toliet loser villan being so easily defeated. I give it a 4.5 out of 5. (Some of it was very predictable).

Then comes Operation R.A.I.N.B.O.W.S. A great Numbah three centric episode. From Robert Paulsen playing Mr.Mogel, (and how he kept silencing his lackey) the Rainbow monkey flying toys and the actual ones themselves (Teleporting from nothing, pretty nice trick) as well as Numbah three doing everything she did in this episode (Sniffing out monkeys, freeing them, all of her cute lines). And the quick appearence of the team at the beginning and the end. Another 4.5 (They never did explain Mr.Mogel's plan. I know it was a joke, but it would have been nice to know what it was).

That's it for know. Next week, the 30 minute season Finale, Operation G.R.O.W U.P. Should be a good one.

All I can say is that its another above-average episode.

Still not one of the best, but its not one of the worst. Thats how it went for this entire episode. I don't really know how to expand more upon that but still... Though Q.U.I.E.T will probably give a little something for 1/5 fans to smile about. (She did all that work for him and he barely notices thanks to that security system of his. Honestly she must be like the "mother" of the group, and no I didn't notice that just now.) And having #4 be forced to disguise himself as #1 was a nice touch actually. (It was payback karma for teasing him about Lizzie, and going nuts by trying to take over his spot in the group.) I wonder why they didn't show any re-action of her eventually finding out that she was with #4 the whole time. (They probably couldn't think of any so they just had a kinda cute scene of #3 teasing him instead.)

Personally when I thought they'd do a bit of "payback karma" for #1 getting back at #4 for teasing him about Lizzie eventully in the series I'd figure he try to secretly plan to sweet talk #3 into giving #4 a nice date just to get back at #4 for that. Afterall despite different circumstances turnabout is fair play in "love & war". But this more circumstantial one was just fine as well. (And besides whose to say he couldn't do that in a future episode? Heh, I'm just teasing ya I know it probably will never happen.) And BTW if anyone asks what about #2, I don't think he (nor I) would have any ideas for revenge. And beisdes #4 teased him ore about that situation than #2 did anyways if I remember correctly.

And as for R.A.I.N.B.O.W.S well it was okay, all it really was is Numbuh 3 being cute. She still by all means is but still it was by all means a decent little episode. I've too noticed that the upcoming episode is "G.R.O.W.U.P" but I didn't know it was the season finale. Unlike most episode ads I strongly believe that it will be more EXACTLY like the ad implies. But one question is in my mind about this. Will the KND have the same VA's in their "new" form and just alter the voices a bit, or will they hire different actors for these parts? (Or a bit of both?)

    Operation: Q.U.I.E.T.

We knew that Toiletnator guy was coming back from the previews. So what is it about the KND that attracts all the weirdos and failures, anyway?
I have a feeling it’s a good thing Numbah One has those sunglasses on, I don’t want to think about how bloodshot his eyes must be…
Six days straight?!? I wish I had that kind of stamina.
I know all the 1/5 fans that have popped up on FanFiction.net will take the fact that it was Five sending him to bed as proof. I dunno, it strikes me as a more common sense thing. Well, to each their own…
Lizzie is quite devoted to Nigel, isn’t she? I wonder how long it took her to rig that sign up…
Nice reference to C.A.N.N.O.N. with the return to the ‘Four-is-One’ costume.
And all the 3/4 fanatics wail in misery as Lizzie drags Numbah Four – oh, wait, I’m sorry, ‘Nigel’ – away on a romantic date. I dare anybody to write a 4/Lizzie fic and post it on Fanfiction.net just for the heck of it.
How strange that One would make such a glaring oversight and fail to tell even a single one of his agents the password to activate the defense system. What if anything were to happen to him?
Two had some good guesses; too bad none of them worked. I wonder what the real password is, anyway…
What the bloody heck is a Skunky Scout? Are we going to hear more about this in a later storyline, much as we did Rainbow Monkeys? Heck, Pokejedservo, we might see that ‘guys must rescue girls from evil camp of doom’ yet!
Why anyone would want to eat a ‘Skunky Scout cookie’ is beyond me.
Do the KNDs have a charge account of some sort? I recall One mentioning something of the sort back in T.E.E.T.H. Remember ‘put it on our tab’? How much do these kids make?
…I feel for Numbah Two and his poor, snot-covered hands. Why did the nasty Cold creep have to show up again?
Like how Five dealt with Stickybeard. Now tomorrow One won’t be wondering where all those boxes of Skunky Scout cookies came from…
So why did Professor XXXL come to brag about his achievement to the same kids that nearly ruined his research? Did they come to some sort of understanding after the fade to black and team up to take down the real villain?
Love how Three was merrily teasing Four about being Lizzie’s boyfriend.
    Interesting note: One sleepwalks.
…Ok, we all knew that it was going to be some little thing Five did that finally woke One up. Still, I wish she would have clocked him and put him to sleep that way.
Love the moonbase. That thing looks like something straight out of a videogame.
…What is all that junk One’s wearing?
This drives home the point that One is rather self-centered at times. Maybe not on the same level as, say, Four, but still… I think Five’s reaction on the couch summed the whole thing up nicely.

**** - Better than I expected from the previews. The fact that it’s focused on Five helps. So did the fact that not all of the villains were straight out attacking all at once.

    Operation: R.A.I.N.B.O.W.S.

…Now that Mogel looks evil. Is that a Hitler moustache, or is it just me? He looks like a fat… well, you know.
Short sleeves! We can see her hands for once!
Well, the nose knows. There, that’s my required cheap joke about Three’s special Rainbow-Monkey-related talent. Now let’s move on, shall we?
I’ve heard that ‘Laugh with me’ joke before, just not on this show.
Nice to see everybody in their beds. The timing seems especially ironic after the Q.U.I.E.T. debacle.
Note: Four just sleeps in that wrestling ring?
Is it intentional that the Rainbow Monkey bait/flying cap matches her shirt?
The other KND aren’t exactly morning people, are they?
Love Kuki’s response to the Mogel saying he needs her nose.
They’re flying around in a huge Rainbow Monkey helicopter. Oh yeah, that’s not obvious. Nobody’s going to pay any attention to a giant airborne Technicolor primate.
The island has a huge monkey carving for a mountain. Who did that, anyway?
The real… Rainbow Monkeys… How… refreshing… that they aren’t totally cute little things. I was going to scream if this turned into some sort of ‘Care Bears’ rip-off.
I do like that the monkeys are constantly changing colors. Is this some sort of camouflage deal?
Nice touch that, for once, the villain didn’t declare his evil scheme aloud. It must be really, really evil if they can’t even say it on the same network that airs Courage, Powerpuff Girls, Grim and Evil, and all that…
How sharp is that propeller supposed to be? Is it really safe to have around little kids?
Again with the whispering. This really leaves it open for some fanfiction writers to come up with their own schemes and have the guy return to try and fulfill it, doesn’t it?
How long was she supposed to be gone? Has it just been a slow day at headquarters?
Like Kuki’s little souvenir of her experience. Wonder if the KND are actually going to use it on some mission later on. They’d have to be pretty desperate for aerial transportation…

**** ½ - Loved it. We need more episodes focusing on just one or two agents. Kawaii Kuki got to demonstrate just why she’s a member of the KND. This would have sucked if they’d had to have the others rescue her, but she held her own just fine, thank you.

On another note, did anyone get to see the next mission preview? It was cut off here by a local commercial before One even finished saying “Prepare for our next mission…”

It would have been better, if Mr. Wink, Mr. Fibb, Grandma Stuff'um, Liver, Onions, Knight Brace & The Delightful Childen From Down The Line were in Q.U.I.E.T. & Chewy & Gooey were with Stickybeard. Then all the villans would have been in it.
I think the code for Numbah 1's diffence machine was Lizzie, because Numbah 2 tried everything.

I'm glad they didn't use all the villains in Operation QUIET, it made the episode flow easily. Plus they used continuity very well here, bringing up stuff from previous episodes without cramming too much information down our throats.

I had a feeling from the moment I read the episode description that this would be like one of those Tex Avery shorts were in the end a pin dropping would be the thing to wake up the sleeping person. In this story the irony was still there but in a new way.

    What I liked:

The return of Four dressing up as One. when I saw this in the preview I thought He did this to take command in one's absence. But he insted did it to stop lizzie from waking Nigel up. Which brings up questions about Lizzie. What good a girlfriend is she not to notice "Nigel" is a foot shorter then normal?

The fact that the attacking villans didn't attack at once, and all had thier own reasons, some effecting the others. (IE the cookies stopping Stickybeard, XXXL and his argument with Lizzie)

Seeing One without his sunglasses. He looked kinda cute, but odd at the same time because of that bald head of his. He looks like a baby.... why IS he bald? I hope this is brought up in a future episode. I have three theories. 1) he shaves his head as a form of rebellion. 2) It all fell out because of stress. Or a far 3rd) At one point in his life he had cancer, but I doubt that is the real reason.

small things, Numbuh 3 throwing herself into lizzie's megaphone. Lizzie taking 4 to the Point. Stickybeard actulay listening to numbuh 5. numbuh 1 sleepwalking. The KND moon base. the "sleep over" at the end.

    As for RAINBOWS
I knew Numbuh 3 was there for a reason. Thank god she really does have a brain. I was afraid they were going to make her a total ditz, but now we see she's smart but her brains are hidden by her innocence and trust.

The rainbow monkeys were cool, I like that they didn't look like the dolls. Mood monkeys! Color changing cool! Heck I think if numbuh 4 had seen the real things he might actulay like them.

"Laugh with me!" I like that joke. Even though I've been hearing it alot lately.

What do rainbow monkies smell like I wonder? Also what's going to happen to those monkies? will they be hiding in the tree house from now on? Or did numbuh 3 put them back on the island?

I didn't see the preview for next weeks episode. And I don't want to have to sit though Iron Giant to see it, I'd rather watch Iron Chef.

    Q.U.I.E.T.:
Okay. It's that cartoon cliche where someone has to make sure said person doesn't wake up and then in the end they wake up at the tinyest thing. But it was entertaining anyway. Numbuh 4 was funny dressing up as Nigel again, lol.
    4/6.

    R.A.I.N.B.O.W.S.:
Rainbow monkeys? o _ O .... Oookaay. At least this plot's original, I'll give it that. I didn't laugh much through this episode so it just felt a little bland to me.
    3/6.

    i give it 4/5

    Q.U.I.E.T. - 4/5
Wasn't exactly what i was expecting, still pretty good, some funny jokes like numuh 3 jumping into the megaphone, lizzie taking 4 to the point, 5 pounding 4 on the head, etc.
Still wish Knightbrace would have been there, oh well, i hope they will use some of these villians again in the 2nd season

    R.A.I.N.B.O.W.S. 4/5
Yay, a completly Numuh 3 episode
aw, she looks cute in her rainbow monkey outfit.... oops... i mean... stupid rainbow monkey!
i like Mr. Mogel (mostly cause Rob Paulsen a.k.a. Major Glory was his voice [yes i know DianaGohan already pointed that out] ) and his laugh with me joke

Really? Intresting, I'll just go over and look at it and... well intresting. It dosen't sound like anything I would think would be about G.R.O.W U.P, unless, this would be more a dramtic action adventure then a comedey episode. If they go down that road, I wonder how it will turn out. Then the Grow up advertised in the title could be emotionally growing up. I'm not sure, but it is an intresting idea.

    The way I see G.R.O.W.-U.P. Playing out after reading the episode desription and seeing the preview is;

In the first half: The Delightful children try to attack and defeat the kids next door in some sceme but fail miserably so they turn to their father. Father comes up with a master plan involving a giant battle mech (which I think is called the R.I.D.U.M according to the CN.com game) and the Age changing ray from Operation: C.A.B.L.E - T.V. That Numbuh 1 so carelessly tossed out the window. The Children put the plan into action and total the treehouse base as well as turn Numbuh 1 into an adult.

In the second half: Here's where I'm still fuzzy. I guess the Kids somehow get away but now that he's an adult Nigel leaves the group feeling either he can no longer be trusted or it just isn't right for an adult to fight as a KND. (Hopefully this episode will be more dramatic then comedy based, this situation lends itself to some great character development for Nigel/ numbuh1. ) But without their leader the rest of the KND concider giving up until they're forced into stopping the Delightful Children and Father, most likely from using the Age Changing ray on the world.

I'm really hoping for a drama based second half when it comes to what happens to Nigel/ Numbuh1. Also I wouldn't be surprised if Lasso Lass (from Operation COWGIRL) showed up again.
