I haven't been too impressed by the stories so far. I liked the one with the Woollies, and the movie, but the others have been just OK. I'm gonna keep watching though, even if the stories don't improve and remain just OK, because the art is impressive. The characters often look like they have a Dexter-type look to them, with extra touches (such as the lack of black lines) to make them stand out, and the backgrounds are great.

I expect there to be some good stories in the future though.

Yes, Dexter is a very clever show that really made C. Network a major player in the network business. My only wish is that I could see the new eppys being made soon (but does anyone know when yhey may come on? I may yet see 'em if I can plan ahead...).

BTW, what's happened with Jack so far? I hope that he's moving along in his quest...

To be honest, he doesn't seem to be getting any closer to his goal. That's unfortunate, since that is exactly what I was hoping to see as the show progressed. Still, it's early yet, and maybe there'll be some progression during the next few episodes. In today's ep., Aku set a trap for him, he managed to hurt Aku with his sword, then Aku ran away. That's the first time we've seen Aku since the movie, so it was kind of a surprise. I was starting to wonder if he was going to show up anytime before the season finale.

I'd like to see a big fight between the two at some point during the season.

Genndy Tartakovsky, the creater of Dexter's Lab and Samurai Jack, has been on the role ever since 1996, like Tom Ruegger, the Creater and producer of Tiny Toons, Animaniacs, Pinky, (Elmyra), and the Brain, and Histeria, Genndy bring the Silver Age of Hanna Barbara. For example, Atom Ant bagat Powerpuff Girls (Genndy the producer of PPG), the Jetsons begat Dexter's Lab., Tom and Jerry and friends begat Grim and Evil (He also produce the pilot episode of Grim adv. of Billy and Mandy), and now like acton shows in the past like Space Ghost, Johnny Quest, Birdman, and Frankensien Jr., Samurai Jack is one of the popular newest action cartoon in the Hanna Barbara/Cartoon Network business.

Genndy Tartakovsky- The reviver of Silver Age Hanna Barbara
Tom Ruegger- The Reviver of Silver Age of Warner Bros.

I hope you understand I'm writing.

Oh, goody! I was hoping someone would post something about Samurai Jack!

I'm definitely curious to see where the show goes - and the visuals and background music are a very nice touch too. (I wonder if there's going to be a soundtrack on sale in the future!)

Let's see...there was the movie, and there's been...um...three episodes so far? Right? I'm not sure if I've missed any. But so far, I've seen the one with the Woolies. Then there's one where he goes up north to find a well that supposedly grants whoever reaches it a wish - but it was well guarded by some expert archers. I won't say any more about it, since there's probably many who haven't seen that ep yet (I may have said too much already! )
Then the last one I saw was the one with the sea creatures - and did anyone else note that Jess Harnell was the voice behind one of them? It's not Wakko, but it's close enough. Anyway, I was kinda surprised to see Aku in this episode too. I kept thinking, "Naah, the series can't end this early...can it??" (It didn't. Whew!)

I hope we get to see a few more close shaves like that before the really big showdown comes...
"Pinky, my parents...they're driving me insane!"
"Egad Brain, really? Ooh, well that kinda leaves me without much to do..."

I saw the sea monkeys one tonight... So that was Jess as one of 'em... I though so, especially when my little sis mentioned him sounding like one of the Beatles....

Those things were all guys right? I thought it was so cute the way they fed him.

Wasn't that Mark Hamill as one of the sea monkeys?

There was also the episode with the scientists trying to escape into space.

But so far my favorite ep, after the movie, has been the one with the wishing well. Mostly of the incredible opening sequence with the Viking’s robotic army.

    I rather like--

--the metahumor buried in each ep. For example, note in the movie that the scenery appears to be taken from the Power Puff Girls short "Speed Demons" (burnt-out Townsville)....and the lead dog wears an oversized monocle like the Mayor. There's a female scientist in a later ep who looks not unlike Monkey's girlfriend Agent Honeydew. One of the sea monkey creatures is voiced by Jeff Bennett, basically using the smae voice he uses for Dexter's father (although didstorted to sound weird and gargly). And the Woollies reminded me a bit of Dee-Dee's buddy the Koosalagoopagoop.
I had misgivings about the show at first considering it was more serious and a vast departure from Tartakovsky's comedy-oriented early stuff...but I'm pleased.

I've been happy with it so far too. Yes, some slightly more complex stories would be nice, but its visual flair is unparallelled. And apart from the movie, I've enjoyed the archery episode the best... it really has to be seen to be believed.

And the music! It's managed to fit the various situations perfectly without detracting from the action.

Another thing I find interesting is how much of it is told visually and through the score rather than dialogue.

It is unfortunate Jack isn't going to find his way home any time soon, but I always thought that was the point. I mean, the moment when we get to see Jack fight Aku finally and get his way back home our amazing and beautifull show will be over.

Anyway, I've loved all the stories so far, and I haven't been dissapointed at all. I can't wait till tonight's installment.

Yeah, I know that he won't be getting home anytime soon, it's just that I'd like to see some kind of indication that he is progressively getting closer to reaching his goals. Maybe they could find some way of hinting that he is getting closer and closer to Aku's base, or maybe he could learn some knowledge that is important to his quest that would stay with him for the next few episodes. I mean, if you've been paying attention to the numbers at the end of each episode, you've noticed that they've been airing the episodes out of order. I would prefer it if there was some kind of continuity, and as time went by you could see him get closer and closer to beating Aku. There could even be steps backward, like maybe Jack finds out that Aku has been able to eliminate his weakness to the sword, which forces Jack to find alternatives before taking the fight to Aku. Maybe there will be some slight progression, it's still kind of early on.

This is one of those self-defeating concepts. Not that it's uncommon, as a lot of shows use it, but it can prove exasperating. On one hand, the viewer is supposed to cheer the hero home. On the other, if he does, the show ends, unless a new journey opens up for the hero--"Samurai Jack and the Johto Journeys..."
