Big Pick II - who are you voting for?

    Like This Thread!
From the few pilots that I've seen, I loved Captain Sturdy the best. Hopefully, I'll be able to catch all the cartoons this weekend before voting. So, that brings up the question, what short are you voting for?

    Swaroop!

I voted Swaroop - not only was it my favorite short but if it is chosen it could revive WB Animation! I have a link to a clip somewhere, does anyone want it?

I only saw four of the pilots - the losers just end up on the Whatacartoon show.

    VOTE FOR!?!

I voting for Swaroop, I'm sure that WBA will rise again, I love Histeria! and Detention, but to make the people who critisize these shows very happy, they failed, but THEY STILL RULES!!!!

Forgive me Bougious Buffoon and other H! fans.

I hope that Swaroop will succeed.

Histeria! would have been popular if those critics stop talking trash about it.

Preach it, G.I. D'oh! No need to forgive-H! WILL rise again! Don't worry about critics-they trash everything good.
To stay on-topic, cannot say I can see these shorts. All I hope is that whatever gets picked will be of a good quality...

    big pick II

i'm voting for 'a kitty bobo show'. it's one of the most original new shorts from cartoon network, and it looks great. dan krall's backgrounds are just so beautiful and clay morrow's music is perfect. did you see the film for the end credits? very original! it's very sit-com like and funny. captain sturdy and imp, inc. are also very good! looking forward to see who the winner will be.

A lot of stuff here, & some of it isn't even on topic.
I really haven't seen any of the new CToons except Ferret & Parrot & My Crazy Family ( I think; is that the one with the East Indian family?). I'll try to see them this weekend, tho not tonight @ 7 as that's when that thing comes on TVLand; I'm curious to see what it's about. It's kind of prime-time Sesame Street without the academic stuff, & when it last aired I was one. Anyway, right now I'm thinking Swaroop 'cause of that WBA thing. Oh, this Big Pick thing got notice in yesterday's DemoZette TV column (Hatter can confirm this). I quote: "Yee Hah & Doo Dah? Somewhere out there, Mel Blanc is turning over in his grave." But did anyone else notice this? Last year's Big Pick contest was won by Billy & Mandy, which will debut tonight as the Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy, but did you notice one of the other candidates got its own series first? Sheep In the Big City. My take: the powers that be had already decided that Sheep was gonna get its own series & winning the Big Pick was just a formality / coronation; when Billy & Mandy won, they had to scramble. Anyone have any idea what this year's anointed one is? I'll be interested to see Captain Sturdy & Major Flake as well as Swaroop; for that matter, I'll be interested to see all of them.

Oh, & G.I. D'oh!? e-mail Varakorn Ungvichian ungvichian@thaimail.com to find out where his Detention page is. I'd tell you myself, but I hadn't added it to the favorites list on this computer when the one @ home conked out. Sorry.
If you don't like your options, make another option.

    The Big Pic.

So what shows are you guys going for.

I'm all for Kitty Ba Ba, and Imps Inc.

However captian Sturdy is the one that truely made me LOL. It was great with all the little refrences to our PC society, and even the CN sattelite being blown away.

The others where not as good IMO.

K so where do you guys stand.

Utica Cartoon. It was pretty funny, and really had a different sense of humor than the others. IMO, it was something that really isn't matched by anything from any other cartoons, in terms of both style and humor. It's very different from anything else on any of the Premieres or regular Cartoon Cartoons, and in a good way.

For those who are kind of thrown by the title...This was the one in which the bear was trying to be perpetual Hot Dog Eating Champion.

I never heard of this either. Is this something on Cartoon Network? And I take it you can pick the shows that get aired, like Control Freak on MTV2? Please fill those of us without a clue in!

Yeah they air a bunch of shorts, and then we decide which one becomes the next cartoon cartoon.

They'll be airing them all weekend, Cal.
So far, I've only seen Kitty BoBo, which I really didn't like.

    My picks are--

"Kitty Bobo" (with all this talk recently about banning cell phones in cars, this one was socially relevant), "Captain Sturdy", and "Utica Cartoon" (isn't that a town in New York?) "Swaroop" seemd to be a pretty one-note joke--Indian family having trouble adapting to American culture, and every one of them sounds like Apu from The Simpsons--all we need is a corner convenience store, folks. If that's WBA's salvation, I'm sorry to say, maybe it's better off d***ed.
Though I'll admit that hearing Maurice LaMarche voice God was amusing...nice to see one of his characters has achieved a position of power, even if...well...a certain someone else has yet to...ahem.

That'll teach you to use sunblock everywhere, then, won't it?

I agree with you Dr. B (ooo, a rhyme) about "Swaroop." I didn't find it very much amusing and I can't see that as a regular series. My vote goes to "Captain Sturdy."
