Did I say late night, I mean early in a morning 4:30 AM Central Time.![]()

They also used to show Taz-Mania & Road Rovers. And once upon a time, they had a very special Friday night showing of Pinky & the Brain; on another very special Friday night showing CN saw the first of F!. Anyway, I'd agree on everything but P*k*m*n, but with my luck & especially with the K beast running the whole shooting match, it's the one most likely to get on. And stay on. And be shown. And shown. And shown. To death. More often than the Sc**by Doo stuff. If such a thing is possible. And if it is possible, you can bet that the K beast will find a way.
If you don't like your options, make another option.
My guess is that they'll be heading back over to Nick in the next few months, at least that's the last thing I remember hearing. Also, wasn't A! about to start airing on Nick this summer or so? Whatever the case may be, I'm not looking forward to that, with what they did to the P&TB intro.Danielle said...

Though CN is a better place for these shows, would they end up airing late at night like Freakazoid, since CN is cramming their schedule with a ton of other things?

Why Brain? What do we want to do tomorrow night? Throw a slumber party?

Pokemon gets enough airtime on Kids WB, so it doesn't need to be seen on CN.
I would like to see Taz-Mania and Tiny Toon Adventures on CN, though.
I think that Dr. Katz deserves to be on. I think that Comedy Central has also given up on The Tick, that was something I'd love to see on CN. Also, anything that is not Scooby Doo or a Cartoon Cartoon. How they can get away with so much repitition is absolutely mind-boggling.
How about some Lantz and DePatie/Freleng (Pink Panther, Inspector, Ant and the Aardvark)
I think Inspector Gadget was on Nickelodeon. And I agree-they should definently air the Pink Panther.

Actually, Inspector cartoons feature Inspector Clouseau, the main character played by Peter Sellers in the Pink Panther movies (which had the Pink Panther himself in the opening titles, but that was the only animation in the movies. The character got his own series due to positive fan reaction to the Pink Panther's antics during the opening credits!) Sellers did not do voices for the Inspector cartoons, though. I found the Inspector cartoon hilarious, his sidekick Judo always amused me. They solved various crimes in France and everyone but Judo (who I think was from Spain) had a French accent. My favorite episode was The Mad Bomber. These used to air on TNT in the pre-CN days.
Pink Panther was on CN for a while a couple of years ago. This network changes so quickly I need to use a scorecard to keep track of the programming.Originally posted by Danielle

And I agree they need to give the constant expansion of original programming a rest.

"Judo?" I thought his name was Deux Deux.

Though it's doubtful that it will ever happen because they are both owned by 20th Century Fox Television, I'd like to see The Simpsons and Futurama reruns in Adult Swim programming block.
Especially since the reruns are a cash cow ratings-wise for the various syndicated stations rerunning "Simpsons" eps.Originally posted by Vince

Speaking of which, the local Fox affiliate here's running a "top 59 episodes" (or was running, since it ended Friday) thing that viewers could vote for (59 eps seeing as how it's WXIN-TV, channel 59 [or "Fox 59" to use its "official" corprate/network-branding name]...which I suppose seems like a rather high channel number for a major commerical TV network-affiliated station [the Fox affiliate in Fort Wayne, IN is on channel 55---not much lower numbers-wise], but I guess Murdoch doesn't care. :-) And I guess if Spanish-speaking TV counts, then Chicago's WGBO-TV on channel 66 probably is the highest channel # that's part of a major commercial TV network [Telemundo in this case] that I've seen [not counting PBS affiliates/those low powered religious- and college-owned TV stations/the likes of PAX]. But I digress :-)
Anyway, I glanced at a few of the eps picked while channel-scanning, and the ones that aired on the last day were from the newer seasons, apparently (the one with a robot in Springfield Elementary School, and the Halloween special where Homer meets a werewolf....feh....). Makes me wonder who was voting for these episodes...

I agree about the Pink Panther, CN needs to pick that series up again. They most likely dropped it because they had to pay for the rights to air it (like the Jay Ward stuff).
Being more of a classsic cartoon fan, I'd want CN to pick up the Lantz cartunes, as well as some others, maybe even "Totally Tooned In" with the UPA and Screen Gems shorts.
And I'd love to see the Simpsons on CN!
Really, CN could do better by diversifying their programming a little more, it feels like Scooby dominates the channel, and they don't even air episodes from all the variant Scooby series anymore. And having original programming is a wonderful thing, but it seems like the network is the "Cartoon Cartoon" Network rather than the "Cartoon Network" now. They dropped all the decent H-B cartoons onto Boomerang, yet they still air "Captain Planet," what a world. I miss "Top Cat."

G.A.C. is coming! And it will destroy us all....or not, you'll have to wait and see.
CN needs to buy rights to more classic cartoons. They should buy the Flip the Frog cartoons, which would be perfect to show on LNB&W. They should also buy rights back to the Lantz and Pink Panther cartoons. They should also pick up the show TOTALLY TOONED IN which has the Columbia cartoons. And since Viacom is part of WB, they could get rights to the Terrytoons! Here's something I'd like to see on the WAT? board (yes there are some edits in the program, since these would most likely be cut):
Acme Hour-Saturday 9PM-11PM
"Hare Ribbin'"-edited
"The Framed Cat" (MGM, Tom and Jerry)-edited
"Grape Nutty" (Columbia, Fox and Crow)
"Olive Oil for President" (Famous, Popeye)
"Porky's Cafe"-B&W
"Woody Dines Out" (Lantz, Woody Woodpecker)
"Little Wise Quacker" (MGM, Barney Bear)
"Blunder Blow" (Popeye)-redrawn, edited
"Meatless Flyday"
"Flying South" (Terrytoons, Heckle and Jekle)
"Puss n' Toots" (MGM, Tom & Jerry)-edited
"Rushing Roulette"
"The Legend of Rock-a-Bye Point" (Lantz, Chilly Willy)
What do you think?

If evolution happened, then why are there still monkeys?
Well, the Columbia and UPA shorts would be edited, Jerry Beck mentions that they had to edit the blackface gags for the sindicated TV series (the original cartoons in the Columbia vaults are unharmed), they also had to rescore parts of certain cartoons because Columbia had lost the rights to some of the songs. So, the series does have a few setbacks, outwieghed by getting to see cartoons not on TV since the 40s and 1957, though.
They also need to give Freakazoid a better time slot, IMO.
BTW, Nickelodion is, I think, owned by Viacom, so that's where you'd most likely see Terrytoons.

I agree, not that any of it's gonna happen. But I do agree. One thing tho: Viacom is not part of WB; if they were connected it'd be a corporate colossus that could smash Fox & Disney like a couple bugs. I remember sometime back in the '80's Time Warner & Paramount tried to merge. Didn't work.
If you don't like your options, make another option.
