Cartoon Network picks up the rights to air the new Fresh TV animated series; Grojband

One of the creators, Todd Kaufmann (co-creator of Sidekick) also posted this on his facebook wall.

This is the people that has created 6teen, Total Drama and Stoked, which have all aired on CN before. Hopefully though, Grojband actually gets to air all of its episodes, something two of the other three never did.

Couldn't they have just called it Garage Band? That hodgepodge of words doesn't look right. Regardless, I doubt that I'll enjoy it. I liked Total Drama because of the absurd reality show elements, but I never got into 6teen or Stoked.

It looks like it'll be more like Sidekicks instead in terms of cartooniness.
I've been looking at the production blog, and the show looks a little generic though. Simple gimmick, that will be filled with cartoon plots and cliches that we've all seen many times before. Hopefully it'll surprise me though. Like Sidekicks I will mostly watch it so I can study its use of flash animation.

I'm wondering where the series will go. It'll likely either go in the afternoon or a lot less likely take Level Up's 8PM slot and have the two FreshTV shows side by side. We might also see it take the 7PM on Tuesdays. Or we could not see this show very soon(as in this summer) and it may take Revenge of the Island's slot after it goes.

I'm pretty sure that they producers said something about 2013, so there's still some time.

The announcement flew under the radar, but according to the show's creator, it'll premiere on June 10th at 5 PM. It'll air on weekdays. The first season has 26 episodes, but they'll burn through them fairly quickly at that rate.

That's in just three weeks! I suppose it's to be expected that such a show gets a weekday slot. At least it's at 5PM, which is not too early.

I hit upon this thread nearly a year ago; when I first saw this series' name, before I discovered what the series concerns, I pronounced it "groy-bahnd".

They have storyboards for a few episodes among other things on the blog. They're actually getting me excited for the show.

Oh goody. Another show from Canada graces our shores.

Yup. It's a signature. Go away if you're expecting something interesting here.

Don't worry - It' s not in a prime-time slot, if that makes you feel any better...

Even then, I share your sentiments on this - mainly on the lack of originality and/or unique identity to distance itself from many other shows in the past like it...
