It's been a fun season. Inconsistency has plagued certain episodes of this show, but all in all, I'm happy with how things went and I'm looking forward to this final episode. It's hard to tell when season two will premiere, but Gumball is a much more complicated show to produce than Adventure Time or Regular Show, so I wouldn't be surprised if we're waiting until the summer.

And here it is, the last episode of the season.

    Spoiler:
I'll try to spoil as little. Basically, Anais has a more prominent role again, and thanks to this episode, Nicole is now my favorite character in the show.

NO repeats? Cartoon Network sure is in love with Level Up. Production time isn't gonna be the only thing hindering a Gumball Season Two over here in America.

EDIT: Just finished watching it. HOLY CRAP NICOLE KILLED MR. REX!!! D=

"See you on Capitol Hill." What an episode to air during an election.

So Season 1 ends with Tina being humanized, and Nicole finally finding a sparring partner who can match her strength and rage quotients.

While Anais was a major player in this episode, Darwin was all but nonexistant. I guess that town's not big enough for that many focal point characters. A story can only have so many people. But I like how Anais got her dander up and sought to stick up for her big brother. Noogie points for realz.

I agree; I mean, she took down a tyrannosaurus rex for her own son.

All in all, a great ending to the first season of the show, and at best, it went out with a bang. I found this episode much alike The Car, not in its execution but rather appearance. I'm going to take a wild stab and say this was produced early on for the show seeing as how it introduces characters like Mr. Small and Tina better than their respective episodes; added, the animation at times is a bit wonky, especially that scene with Mr. Small, which would make sense if this was an earlier production when their animation for the characters wasn't as refined. But the episode in general was pretty good, the build-up was well, build-up and it only dragged the episode until we finally got to the climax with Gumball running from Tina, and that whole sequence was very well done. It's also nice that we also got some development in Tina's character at the end what with her and Gumball talking while his mother was busy punching a dinosaur in the face.

Added: I tend to see this a lot in other episodes like The Party or The Picnic, the characters seem to be more energetic, there's a lot more movement and a bigger range of facial expressions for the characters that I saw here. I hope they continue that, it's very cartoony.

So, yeah, very nice finale. I sure hope the 2nd season expands and corrects the problems encountered in the first.

    Grade: A-

This episode seems.... delightful. Nothing really changed anything other than Gumball learning more about Tina's way of communicating. I don't know why she couldn't approach Gumball without roaring and running towards him, and why Penny didn't help prevent Gumball's bullying like she did in "The Gi"? But I let it slide. I was cheering for Nicole all along during whatever was inside that warehouse, and she left without a scratch. Looking back at "The Quest", they weren't kidding when they said Nicole is more terrifying than a ferocious T-Rex. Pretty good season finale, although I prefer it ended in a more family-centered episode like "The Helmet".

What do I think of this season overall? I think it has some episodes that are okay, and some that are really good. Its "worst" episodes, weren't really all bad. It's the character writing that was the major flaw in this, especially towards the stupidity of Richard and Gumball. Regardless, happy to see that Season 2 was made, and can't wait to watch it when it's ready.

I liked how "The Fight" turned out. The scenes with the 'Bunny Hop' was intriguing in a good way with Gumball meowing again in the series. I liked Mr. Small's reaction to Gumball mentioning Tina in one scene. The chase scene was terrific and I liked the music that was playing in the background; While on the chase scene, did anyone else besides me notice Leslie in the Girls' Locker Room? And how the problem was solved was impressive. All in all, it was a great way to end the first season.

The production code implies otherwise, but either way, I thought that the animation in this episode was better than usual. I liked how it seemed more fluid.

It was a great episode, but Tina wanting to be friends with Gumball? That's so going to result in some inconsistency in Season 2.

And yes, Nicole is, indeed, the BEST. CARTOON MOM. EVER!

I didn't. But did anyone notice that what looked like a pair of underwear was thrown at Gumball?
Or that Anais's mouth didn't move when she said "Huh?" in the beginning of the episode?

I don't go out of my way to catch up on episodes often, but the little bits of the chase scene in the commercial got me interested and it didn't disappoint. The animation was kicked up a few notches, and the varying angle shots made it fun to watch. Story was alright. Once again, we see that Tina's not as mean as she lets on

    Good episode, all the same.
