    Epic New Star Wars Trailer!

    Like This Thread!
"Star Wars: The Clone Wars" Season 4 Premieres on Cartoon Network Sept 16, 2011

That looks so EPIC! You can literally feel the power of the Force as you watch that! You can also feel Anakin's struggle with the Dark Side.

It's gonna be awesome...unfortunately a lot of Toonzoners don't like this show for some reason. If they watched the 2nd half of season 3 ("Nightsisters" and onwards) I think they'd be surprised how far this show has come both plot wise and animation wise since season 1 and the horrid Clone Wars movie.

That trailer was awesome. It definitely has me hyped for the upcoming season.

Changed the video source to a much, much better one .

I documented my issues with the series in my review of the season 3 premiere and the corresponding talkback thread, and not much of what I did see in season 3 really changed my mind. Inevitably, I end up watching the show again after I see the season premiere but get less and less regular as the season wears on, and eventually just give up just past the halfway point. It's not a BAD show, but it's not one that's good enough for me to make it appointment TV.

But hey, I can be picky. If you like the show, more power to you. The trailer does look pretty good, although Grievous' line about "I will attack the Naboo!" and then laughing just makes me laugh and not with him. That comes off as mustache-twirling "You Must Pay the Rent!" villainy and about as deep.

That's...actually exactly how Lucas wrote the character. He said he was an ode to those old sort of villains, if I remember correctly.

Yep, that's what I read also.

Snesh! I'm really getting annoyed with people crapping on Chowder, Spongebob Squarepants, Doctor Who, The Lone Ranger, PlayStation Vita, Star Wars, The Legend of Zelda and the Nintendo 3DS these days. Some people can be so picky and man do they spoil stuff for other people. Nevertheless, to each his own. That's how diversity goes I suppose.

However, even if it is off topic, I'm REALLLY upset, yea, I am TICKED OFF with Disney turning tail and running just because Cowboys and Aliens underperformed and canceling The Lone Ranger reboot just because it had Tonto and the Great Spirit, plus Werewolves (ala Obi Wan and the Force) and laying it on the self for a later year. There, it might be off topic but at lest I got that madness off my chest.

Even if so, then I'd say he's aiming too low and hit even lower. I don't think that Grievous came off that way when he was introduced in the Genndy Clone Wars series. I definitely don't think that he comes off looking well compared to Star Wars and ESB Darth Vader. Old-school Vader is an ode to the mustache-twirling villain. This Grievous is just a poor copy of them.

Besides, Lucas also said that the Padme/Anakin romance in the second movie was a "love haiku" rather than a love poem, but even so it still was pretty bad.

And if I had any hope that a revived Lone Ranger would be good, I'd be first in line for a ticket. I'm just not sure that Hollywood has it in them to do the property justice.

Tartakovsky's series made up their own personality for the character because Lucas hadn't given them one yet. While it's a great character, it's obviously not the personality being used anymore, so I don't think trying to apply it to an outside series is going to do much.

I don't think calling old-school Vader a mustache-twirler is an entirely accurate description. The mustache-twirler is typically campier and 'louder'. Vader broke thumbs...er...windpipes to get what he wanted done, never acting over the top. By contrast, the coughing Grievious is bother louder in speech and in personality, more befitting of the sort of guy who would tie your gal down to some train tracks with an on-coming train while twirling his mustache. That's what I think Lucas is straight-up presenting in this series.

Hmm, well count me as interested. I never really liked or disliked this series, but I did always watch it from time to time, though it never held my attention. Still this trailer was great, I can't wait to see what this season will dish out.

Darn! another season I can't watch.
Was my reaction when I saw the trailer a few days ago.
With such a short clip nearly every line of dialogue was cliche and cringe worthy.

I've tried a few times to get into the show, and there are a few things I really like, like the news reel intros, but I just can't watch it.

As a fan of Flash Gordon I don't know if that alone turns me off.
Jabba the Hut was as big of a mustache twirler as you can get (more then Vader), and he was cool.

Beautifully written my friend. It is also worth noting that Tartakovsky's Clone Wars was basically Lucas's way of testing the waters to ensure that the new show would be successful as it was planned from the very beginning.

Out of all the new villains I think none gets any better than Bounty Hunter Cad Bane. I seriously enjoy Cad Bane and Asaji Ventress. While we are on the subject of Star Wars I sure hope this cosmic MMORPG of Cowboys, Bunny Girls and Aliens gets an animated TV show on Cartoon Network or SyFy Channel.

On a side note I'm thanking God that they've got The Lone Ranger back on track. Source: http://www.aceshowbiz.com/news/view/00043004.html

I gotta admit. That star wars trailer was truly epic. Never really followed the series(a bit to cinematic for my tastes, and...my attention span at 1am is pretty low.) I'll start from the beginning eventually. Anyways...the facial animation is leaps and bounds over season 1! The tree trunk puppet models killed my interest in this series.
On a sidenote: Awesome that night of action is returning next month :P
    Anime currently watching:

Hanasaku Iroha , Gad Guard, Birdy the Mighty, Eden of the East, Chromo Shelled Regios

What did you guys think of that WildStar trailer? Wouldn't that be perfect on Cartoon Network?

Clip & Stills from "Star Wars: The Clone Wars" Season 4 Premiere

Nothing like a "Blue Leader, standing by!" to get the blood going, eh? Even if it is Ahsoka saying it .
