A new character! How cool... I wonder how much the series will feel like the movies... either way I hope this show does well.

The show is being given a panel at Comic Con and they've reaffirmed that it will premiere this fall. I think it would be best served premiering as close to prime-time as possible, possibly alongside Clone Wars. I know that show hasn't dominated the ratings like it used to, but then again, its line-up - which included Generator Rex - sort of imploded. I think it could do well paired with HTTYD.

Picking up where the critically-acclaimed feature film, How to Train Your Dragon, left off, this weekly animated series follows the continuing adventures of master dragon trainer Hiccup, his faithful dragon Toothless and his friends on the island of Berk. Dragon training reaches new heights as our heroes unlock secrets about their dragons, explore wild frontiers and discover new dragon species, all while battling against fierce enemies they never dreamed existed. Come get a first look at the series, which premieres this fall on Cartoon Network, and hear from some of the talented dragon trainers who helped bring it to life.

Airing it with Clone Wars sounds like a good idea since it would probably help it. I know Clone Wars didn't do that great with season 4 but it managed to break 2 million viewers serveral times even while being the only premiere of the night and against some of the toughest competition, and it would be a shame if one of them went on Saturday morning.

    BIG NEWS:

It will premiere on Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at 7:30/6:30c.

This means TDRI is going to be aired in 13 consecutive weeks (4 weeks so far counting today), unless they decide to move episodes.

Ah okay. I wonder if they're purposely putting popular shows at the 7:30 PM slot to help Level Up. I think Dragons: The Series would be more suited for Wednesdays at 8:30 PM after Ninjago...

As do I. I am curious where Scooby Doo and LTS will go after this move too.

TDRI only has 13 episodes so that makes sense.

I agree that it would be better suited after Ninjago, and yes, I'm not even doubting that CN is doing this to help Level Up. I suppose it's fine like this, when it doesn't hurt other shows like it did with TLTS at the start of this year...

And this is what really worries me. We know Scooby-Doo is returning July 10th which is a Tuesday. TDRI and Level Up probably is at 7:30 - 8:30PM still, so my guess is that they're planning to put Scooby-Doo after Level Up, which I find to be a terrible move. If it was after TLTS it would be alright because they have about the same fanbase, but I really think it's gonna hurt it being after Level Up.

Cartoon Network is not using their prime time to their best at all which will ruin their chances to completely tower over Nick this fall like they could if they work hard enough. This is how it should be this fall:

    08:00PM - Regular Show
    08:30PM - Annoying Orange
    08:45PM - MAD

    Tuesdays:

07:30PM - The Amazing World of Gumball
08:00PM - The Looney Tunes Show
08:30PM - Scooby Doo Mystery Inc.

    Wednesdays:

07:30PM - How to Train Your Dragon
08:00PM - NinjaGo: Masters of Spinjitzu
08:30PM - Star Wars: The Clone Wars

    Thursdays:

08:00PM - Nick Cannon Sketch Comedy Series
    08:30PM - Level Up

    Fridays:

    08:00PM - Cartoon Planet

    Saturday Mornings:

    08:00AM - Pokemon
    08:30AM - Ben 10: Omniverse
    09:00AM - Green Lantern
    09:30AM - Young Justice
MONDAY: Dancing with the Stars | Castle
TUESDAY: Agents of SHIELD | The Goldbergs | Trophy Wife | Mind Games
WEDNESDAY: The Middle | Suburgatory | Modern Family | Mixology | Nashville
