I see Young Justice. I see Loony Tunes. I see Sym-Bionic Titan. Excellent.
That's quite good in and of itself right there. I'm looking forward to seeing the full news.
This is the talkback thread for Toonzone at the Cartoon Network 2010 Upfront.
Some images now. Press materials coming soon.
EDIT: Press release here.

I would suggest that it's not the medium, but the quality of perception and expression, that determines the significance of art. But what would a cartoonist know? -Bill Watterson
Ya I agree with you. I am also glad to see Sym-bionic Titans and Scooby Doo Mystery Incorporated.

ON CARTOON NETWORK!
This is fantastic news! Hehe, I guess Rho's prediction was right, Sym-Bionic Titan will indeed air in the summer.
Sym-Bionic Titan & The Looney Tunes Show is going to be awesome, this is the "big" news I was hoping to hear about this year! Is Sym-Bionic Titan joining YAH? It would fit perfectly with the other two new shows the block picked up, so my fingers are 100% crossed, but as long as it does air in the summer I will be one happy individual.
Lot's of good news so far!
Glad to see plenty of new cartoons coming. Sure, I'm not happy about all the live-action that will be coming in the next few years, but if Cartoon Network is successful with it, then I say go for it (don't get me wrong, live action on CARTOON Network is nothing that I would approve of, but all that matters in the TV biz is ratings, so if it brings good ratings, continue it. Also glad to see 6teen and Stoked on the returning series list (shows you they don't hate them too much). Also glad to see Metajets will be coming soon (I thought that would never come). So, Unnatural History will be airing on Sunday starting June 13th at 8pm. What will happen to The Flicks? I guess we will have to wait and find out.

ON CARTOON NETWORK!
Okay, The Looney Tunes Show seems like it's going to be really cool, same with Regular Show and Sym-Bionic Titan, but there is a lot of weird stuff like the NBA related programming and more live action junk, but I can honestly live with that stuff as long as I get a healthy dose of Looney Tunes and action shows like Sym-Bionic Titan. I see Cartoon Network has not announced any anime this year, I kind of expected it due to their current stance on the medium, but I am still slightly disappointed about it.
Decent Upfront this year, some stuff was leaked and some stuff was expected but all in all I would say that it was a pretty good day for CN, though they didn't create a major buzz like Nicktoons did during their event.
Does anyone else notice that we're getting a lot of cartoons about teens in high school?

Kassandra: Goddess of Awesome
Yeah. Sym-Bionic Titan is one of them.
Besides all the CN-real junk. It seems like it was a pretty good day today for CN. I'm glad Sym-Biotic will be airing soon. And that Firebreather movie seems interesting as does the new show "Secret Mountain Fort Awesome". And i'm sure Looney Tunes Fans will be happy as well. Although I am kind of disappointed that the Regular show will only be airing in 15 min segments. I was also expecting a little bit more of a surprise I guess, but that didn't happen either. But overall, I must say, CN did good today.
Awesome stuff. A bit dissapointed that Beyblade is the only new anime we are getting.
"Toonami:Tougher than the Best,Stronger than the Rest."
TOONAMI LIVES (5/26/12)
Too many to weigh-in on now (although I'm sure a lot of people will try). I will say this. It doesn't look all that bad. The ones I'm looking forward to most are; Lords of Bad Axe, Unnatural History, Tower Prep and Secret Mountain Fort Awesome which doesn't sound like it's going to final name used. The ones I'm least looking forward to are; The Looney Tunes Show, Beyblade and the Amazing Spiez.
Teens are teh coolest FTW!
I realize it's technically animated in Canada and isn't anime, but there are those who would put Metajets in that same category with the animation style it has and the storyline that has been revealed so far. I also wouldn't count out the possibility of them continuing to air 5D's, despite them not listing it as a returning series.
I'm glad to see some diversity coming back to the CN line-up. They really have the potential to explode their Saturday morning and Friday night line-ups with action here. Young Justice is by far what I look forward to the most, if for no other reason that Greg Weisman is on board. I know some people will say Sam Register will ruin it, but honestly neither Teen Titans nor The Batman were bad, and Ben 10 has performed above what most people expected. These two working together should make Young Justice gold. Being a Beyblade fan, of at least the anime portion, I also look forward to Beyblade: Metal Fusion (even if it will be some months behind the Canadian premiere on May 15). Generator Rex shows promise, and of course the Looney Tunes are back. If they truly style it off of the original Looney Tunes, then there's not much damage they can do to it.
On the downside, I hope too many people don't complain about this here, but we get new seasons of Destroy Build Destroy, Dude, What Would Happen, and a new live action series called Unnatural History. We also see the fruits of the NBA deal with CN as they debut Run It Back Sunday, a remix of the NBA on TNT Game of the Week where the game will be shown in its entirety in one hour.
College football, basketball, the NFL, the NBA, and MLB. I may not be an expert, but these sports always keep me fascinated if the game is good!

Beware The Almighty Hammer Gun!
Robotomy, The New Looney Tunes Show, Secret Mountain Fort Awesome, Regular Show, MAD, Young Justice, Scooby Doo Mysteries, Inc., Generator Rex. That's no less than 8 new animated series for Cartoon Network. This pleases me (although I personally think that WB could have come up with a more creative title for the new Looney Tunes show than The New Looney Tunes Show), and the plan of creating an Adult Swim-lite program block to run as a medium between Cartoon Network and AS is an idea that I absolutely love. I really hope that Toon will utilize this idea to the fullest and that the experiment is a successful one.
Yes, there's more live action programming coming to the channel as well, but I've come to the realization that the live action smeg won't be going away as long as admen and accountants are running CN, so as long as the live action shows are done in moderation, I'm going to stop complaining about them. I just won't watch any of them.
Sadly, there was no announcement of Gumball. It looks like we won't be getting that show here in the US after all, at least not in the immediate future. Pity. It looked interesting.
Still, there's a lot to look forward to. Lots of cartoons and lots of comedies. A lot of these shows are about monsters, misfits and teens in high school, but I won't pre-judge until I've seen them. We are getting new Looney Tunes; I agree with Blackstar that the title is unimaginative, but hey, it's new Looney Tunes. Not looking a gift horse in the mouth.
It looks to be big year for Cartoon Network.

Looking forward to Scooby Doo Mystery Incorporated and Scooby Doo Curse of the Lake Monster now that both of them have been officialy announced. Now hopefully CN will release some episode titles or plots of SD Mystery Inc or an official debut date, even though it will air in the summer I would still like to know when it will officialy debut.
The monsters in the new show look a lot like the style of Uncle Grandpa... could that be what became of Uncle Grandpa?
Quater hour shows like Adult Swim? Very interesting. They already run most premieres of the original shows in that manner but now we can get 4 different shows in 2 hours. No doubt this is their answer to getting more out of their prime time when they lose the 9PM hour.
Perhaps MAD isn't actually going to be on Adult Swim in 2011 but we'll have to wait and see.
Warner Bros. is packing the good stuff for the first time in a long time. Looney Tunes, Young Justice, Mystery Inc, MAD and more!
Some synergy around the network and it's sister companies? I thought we'd never see the day.
Live action blah blah blah... some of it doesn't sound too bad actually. The KROG show might actually be funny.
The sports stuff is what really has me scratching my head but whatever... the new cartoons and their prime time strategy give me faith that CN is going good places.

Yeah, I was looking forward to some actual series to be announced, I kind of figured Pokemon and Bakugan would continue on the network so that isn't really news to me. I guess I can live with Beyblade: Metal Fusion but really was hoping for CN to grab some actual anime series, I guess I should have known better.
I'm a little concenred about Firebreather if this image is supposed to be Duncan. I don't like the idea of him being a full-time or transforming human.
Is his original (and permanent) design/form in the comics. Made things more interesting since he is always an outsider with humans instead of being a regular teenager with superpowers (basically Jake Long).
Yup. It's a signature. Go away if you're expecting something interesting here.
