Star Wars: The Clone Wars To Become Darker, More Violent
It has been announced at Comic-Con that the second season of “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” is going to be a lot darker. I believe this move can only make things better. The first season was alright, but those stupid droids kept annoying me. Fortunately, they explicitly mentioned that those droids are going to get less screen time. :anime:

I felt the "comedy" in this series so far, starting with episode 1, was just...too kiddish. The droids...I liked them a whole lot better when they barely talked in the prequel trilogy, but they were only good in the show when Grevious would smash their heads in to shut them up.
But to hear that things will actually start getting serious, the whole thing starting to feel like an actual WAR...I like this new direction.

Fatal chest stabs weren't enough?
Cool, looking forward to season 2.

"Star Wars: The Clone Wars To Become Darker, More Violent"
Glad to hear it. I thought that the first season was a little light. Anyone know when the second season is supposed to start???

Y'know what i really want to see... the return of the badass general grievous as we first saw him...
Seriously, the first time we saw him was in the clone wars cartoon where he single handedly took down like half a dozen jedi without breaking a sweat... which was then followed by his chasing down chancellor papatine, making sport out of the jedi protecting him
And then comes the movie... where he is killed by obi-wan alone... and his role in the latest star wars series reflects that fight... his record has become a string of failures; i mean how many times did we see the reused animation of him running away and jumping into his escape ship? Hell even Asoka was making light of him... his only victory seemed to be killing one hot headed jedi knight, fresh from training.
Ya i want the grievous that comes off as a major threat to jedi... and hell, considering how often he complains about the battle droids, it would be great to see him make more use of the MagnaGuards... let him really strike fear in the supposedly fearless jedi

Thats some great news. Can't wait for season 2.

That sounds great. Even if CN edits it will be uncensored on AS right?

Awesome
I can't wait! :anime:

While normally "darker and more violent" is a bad sign (trying to be edgy without putting any effort into actualy quality), in this case it'll probably help, since the show's strongest aspects were the serious ones, and it's humor was...not.
-
Delicious. I'm not one to like dark/edgy cartoons, but what turned me off of the show was that there was a gosh-darned interglactic WAR going on and half of the screen time was dedicated to gold-painted Jar-Jars, mysteriously mistaken for droids.
Thoughts?

I'll third the previous 2 posts. While I'm generally not into dark and violent, in the case of Clone Wars, it might actually help, since many of the show's attempts at humor, well, weren't very funny.

*slaps hands on cheeks* Oooooh.
Seriously though, I guess that's good news for those who criticised the show for being too "campy", so to speak, but I can only imagine how parents will react to their kids watching Jedi being murdered and people "losing limbs"...

Hmm... darker and violent doesn't neccessarily mean better. I guess it can go nowhere but up to me since I've found it to be QUITE boring so far. So maybe a little edge will make it more interesting or maybe it'll be edgier but just as meh. More action certainly wouldn't hurt but they need to come up with better comedy to break the tension if they're going to have comedy at all.

I kind of see this as an improvement over season 1 already. I hope this means more humanoid vs humanoid violence instead of humanoid vs robot violence.
After all, for Star Wars it could work, after all, being serious was one of Clone Wars' biggest strengths.

Yeah, I was thinking about that too...
There wouldn't be blood gushing, but seeing an arm flop off can be unsettling to some.
If a mom can complain about the flirt-fight in Spectacular Spider-Man
between Black Cat & Spider-Man for having 'loud sexual undertones',
then parents are likely to complain about more violence, despite a PG warning.

Ugh... y'know i think one of the biggest keys for CN to get higher ratings amongst teens would be to first stop listening to parents... they tend to be nothing more than a vocal minority that is over protective, and jump at the littlest things
Stop listening to the naysayers so you have the freedom to air the kind of stuff teens would enjoy
