Nice to know that Genndy will be doing another project for CN.

According to Newsarama, we should be getting more Cartoonstitute info soon.

Wow, The Powerpuff Girls almost got a seventh season. I can fully see why Chris Savino declined to do so though. The entire crew changed over time, and through that, the show itself changed in a way. Can't wait to hear more news about the Cartoonstitute and Foster's Home though.

That was a really nice and informative interview. I've always enjoyed reading about how the origins of cartoons started out and how the creators developed them and who they developed them with. It makes me feel like the creators aren't much different from me in the sense that we come up with ideas in the same manner. It's also interesting to see what kind of different things inspired PPG/Dexter (I'm surprised Craig mentioned nothing of Sentai shows from Japan). I also realized from reading this article that how "chance" and "perfectly timed" Cartoon Network was in the 90's. All of the great stuff happened at Cartoon Network because of perfect timing; Fred Seibert became the president of H-B at the right time, Craig/Genndy/Rob knew each other/worked with eachother at the right time, Cartoon Network was created at the right time, and WAC! came along at the right time. It makes we wonder what CN would've been like during the 90's had all of this not happened precisely when it was supposed to. It also makes me realize how nowadays, everything seems to have the wrong timing. While Samurai Jack and Foster's were both great, they happened at precisely the wrong time, causing the crew that had worked together on PPG/Dexter to ultimately be dissolved.

Anyways, I'm glad Genndy is back at CN, and I hope that this marks the return of him to CN since he's been away for 4-5 years now, but I'm sure he's still working at Orphanage too. I'm ecstatic that he's creating a new short, I can't imagine what that nutcase still has left in his creative psyche after it's already spewed the exquisite ideas that were Dexter and Jack. I can't wait until the next part of the article is put up; I'm eager to read more.

You'd be surprised. Inspiration can come out of nowhere and beat the hell out of you. Then it goes to jail, where it...no, that analogy doesn't work. Inspiration can come from anywhere, and can grow to become a great, well-developed idea...yeah, that's better. So he's likely gotten a new idea by now.

Hopefully it can live up to Dexter and Jack's name. But hey, it is Genndy we're talking about. As far as I'm concerned that guy's the Walt Disney of our generation. Why he's been dormant for almost half a decade is beyond me. I guess he likes to tease us.

That was a really nice interview. I liked hearing from Craig McCracken on how Powerpuff Girls developed and what inspired Mojo. I'm also glad to hear that Genndy is still doing work for CN. I'm sure that a reason for why he's been dormait for half a decade has to do with the right inspiration for a show, as well as making it good enough for CN to air it. Still, I'll be happy to see his new work.

The PPG Box has all the interstitials? Does anyone know if that includes the Toonami ones or just the general CN ones?

Anyways, that was quite interesting. I'm also glad to hear that Genndy is doing something again (besides the Jack movie).

I just read part 2 of the interview. Really great stuff, though I would've liked to hear a bit more about Craig's younger days in college with Genndy and Rob. It seems that there's the likelihood of a Foster's marathon to finish the series. Honestly, though I'm dying to see Foster's again, the last thing I want them to do is finish it off in one day. Also, some more Cartoonstitute news. The three core artists who are almost like "vice-executives" under Craig and Rob are Chris Reccardi (who we've already known is on the team) and Derek Drymon and Dave Smith, who are new names in the Cartoonstitute news report, but are in no way new to the animation scene. I kinda expected Dave Smith to be a part of the project, seeing as how he's done a great deal of work at Cartoon Network and has a history of working with Craig and Rob. What I wasn't expecting was good old Derek Drymon (director of the greatest episodes of Spongebob evurr before it went down the potty) to be the third man in the trinity. Derek Drymon has always been a Nick alumni (working on Spongebob, CatDog, Rocko, Kablam and maybe a few other shows) and looks like he's decided to migrate over to Cartoon Net. I'm eager to see what Mr. Drymon has in store for us, since I haven't seen his actual drawing style at all, though I know he's definitely a funny guy from what he's done on Spongebob. What my confusion is that he was supposedly creating "Diggs Tailwagger" for Nick. Maybe Diggs went over to CN with Drymon? Or maybe it's just dead. Anyways, all three of the mentors or "2nd in Command" (Reccardi, Drymon, Smith) are creating their own shorts as well as helping Craig and Rob oversee the other shorts. It seems like everytime I hear about Cartoonstitute, it gets better and better. Heck, with all the superb people on this, it's already sounding to be bigger than WAC!

Can't wait for more on Cartoonstitute. Again, really nice interview.

    Cartoonstitute continues to be awesome.

I am very confident in saying that Cartoonstitute very well may be the best thing to air on CN this decade.

    Even better than Megas.

Wurd. So much good is likely to come out of this that it really isn't funny, it's exciting and hope-inspiring. This is the thing that could find us the next Dexter or the next PPG or the next Jack. I can tell you right now, between Cartoonstitute and Random! Cartoons, Cartoonstitute slams Random! so far into the ground that it penetrates the Earth's core and continues to travel to the other side of the world, then out of the atmosphere and out of Earth's orbit into the vacuum of space; and it hasn't even aired yet. That's how good it sounds. I just hope I'm not setting myself up for dissapointment. But with all the amazing folk on this team, I doubt I will.

The only question is, what the heck is McCracken going to do after he's done with this. I mean, where can you possibly even go after such a big thing like this? He's done so much in the industry already, from his contributions to 2 Stupid Dogs, then WAC!, then Dexter. To introducing the Powerpuffs as a household name in America and around the globe and following up with Foster's. And then he goes and does this. He's at the top of Mount Animation right now, and the only place he can go after this is up into space. But seriously, what will he do? Will he continue at Cartoon Network? Will he follow his old roommate, Tartakovsky, into feature-length animation, or will he go and create a comic like he's always wanted. Honestly, I don't see how much better he can do. He's already changed the animation game.

All I know is that he WILL find something. Whether its staying at the network that has acted as his home for close to two decades, leaving to peruse theatrical animation, or even making a comic book series, we'll probably find something he enjoys, and he'll likely succeed in it. Right now, I'm just wondering what Lauren has got up her sleeve. She might turn her Galaxy Girls idea into a series. Who knows?

I don't think Lauren is going to be using her Galaxy Girls idea. She's said before that CN doesn't seem that interested, so I don't think she'll be pitching it at all. However, seeing as Craig is her hubby and all, I'm almost positive that she's involved in the project in some form, heck there's even a possibility that she is creating a short. But if she is, then I don't think it's the Galaxy Girls.
