Happy 10th Anniversary Powerpuff Girls !!!

Today is a very, very, very historic day for The Powerpuff Girls!!! On this day the series has officially turned 10 years old ! 10 years ago today on Wednesday November 18, 1998 "The Powerpuff Girls" cartoon series officially debuted on Cartoon Network with the airing of the episodes "Monkey See, Doggie Do/Mommy Fearest" (although these 2 episodes were the 2nd in production order with "Insect Inside/Powerpuff Bluff" being the 1st). And ever since that day The Powerpuff Girls has been a super, mega, power ratings hit show that had boosted the popularity of Cartoon Network when the network was in the period of a slump. It also was the first (and still currently only) Cartoon Network cartoon series that was allowed a theatrical feature film for it due to it's popularity. Sure the series has had it's rough spots during the past 10 years (the lack of advertising killing the sales of the fantastic movie, season 5-6, etc.), but overall, even 10 years later, The Powerpuff Girls still remains to be not only one of Cartoon Network's best cartoon series (if not THE BEST), but it's also one of the top 50 greatest cartoons of all time (if not #1 in my book/opinion).

I have been a fan of this cartoon since before this day had come back in 1998 back when I had first laid eyes on the What A Cartoon! shorts/pilots back in 1995 & 1996. I've always wanted it to become an official cartoon series after "Dexter's Laboratory", "Johnny Bravo", & "Cow & Chicken" got greenlighted to become regular half-hour cartoon series', and my wish came true on this day 10 years ago XD!!!

Happy 10th Anniversary/Birthday Powerpuff Girls!!! I have been a true fan for 13 years, and will continue to be one for many, many, many more years to come... I can't wait to buy the official Complete Series DVD's on January 20, 2009, and I can't wait to see the official 10 Year Anniversary special episode (which the episode title has been revealed to be "The Key To The World")!!!!!!!!!!

    Speaking of the DVD...

Anyone news on if the special will be on it?

Anyways, nice post, Booncy. And long live the PPGs!

Feels like just yesterday when the PPG became a cartoon after the "What a cartoon!" episodes... and now it's soon entering Boomerang

    I feel old

So who am I to bridle
if I'm forced to be an idol?
If they say that I'm a God
    - that's what I am!
