CN Talkback: Pokemon D/P Battle Dimension [July] (Spoilers)

    Like This Thread!

    July 2008

Ash, Brock and Dawn continue there adventures through the land of Sinnoh, meeting some brand new Pokémon, rivals, and challenges along the way!

    Normal Time: 9:30am Saturdays (Eastern)

    Last Time:
Team Galatic stole some kind of powerful artifact from the Solaceon Ruins.
Dawn's Contest is in Solaceon Town ended in another first round failure.
Because of this, Dawn will be taking some time off from contests in order to get herself back in the zone.
This last contest has also put Dawn in a depressed state, but she got some of her confidence back after meeting up with her childhood friend Leona.

    This Time:

    July 6th, 2008
    Riding the Winds of Change!
Several Gligar and a Gliscor are causing some issues in a nearby town. Ash decides he will try to stop the swarm, but he is going to need some help for this large task.

    July 13th, 2008
    Sleight of Sand!
Ash and Dawn come across a desert like field and decide that it would be a great place to relax and stretch out a bit, but Pachirisu is going to get in a little trouble.

    June 20st, 2008
    Lost Leader Strategy!
Ash has finally made it to Vilestone City. But Ash will meat a less-than-optimistic Gym Leader before they even enter the town.

    June 27th, 2008
    Crossing the Battle Line!
Dawn, who is still felling down from her last contest will take on the Gym Leader, who is also dealing with some rough times as well.

    Notes:
July is the warmest month of the year, and the action is just about to heat up.
And since we have made it to Vilestone City this month, I can guaranty that we will see Paul at least once this month.
And I hope all of you enjoyed a great 4th of July today.
Oh, and since Blue Dragon will not be airing any more, and encore episode of last week's episode will now air at 9:00am

Two on one? Okay now he's cheating. Okay maybe not since that Gliscor is sicking so many Gligar on Paul.

And how does an electric attack hurt a freaking GROUND/FLYING? I hate it when the show disregards type match-ups.

Oh this has gotta be some kind of freaking joke. It's not so much that Paul caught Gliscor that bothers me. It's that Ash also caught a Gligar as well. Ash already has Turtwig and Paul has Torterra. That's already one Pokemon both trainers have on their team. Do they really need another?

    Spoiler:
I also heard in the recent Japanese episode that Gligar evolves into a Gliscor itself. Taking the situation even further.

Pretty good episode, IMO. I had a feeling that Ash was going to get his hands on that Gligar from the start. As LordTerminal said, I'm not too sure how I feel about Paul having the same Pokémon as Ash, but what're you going to do about it?

I knew that Ash was going to catch that slow Gligar from the beginning.

A couple of thoughts I had when I first saw Gilscor and the Gilgars is good thing Misty ain't here. She hates bug type Pokemon, how would she react to bat and scorpian type Pokemon. I also thought maybe Myotismon is back. LOL

Yes, I just relized that this morning. Sorry about the mistake.

Well, like everyone else so far, I had a destinct feeling that there was a good chance that Ash was going to end up catching that Gligar. I kept sticking its tounge out which gave it a unique characteristic that most of Ash's pokemon have.

Yeah, Paul keeps calling Ash pathetic, but having to go two on one... that's almost as bad as Team Rocket. >_>

And Paul catches yet another pokemon, but at least this time, Ash kept pase as he catches one for himself (and in the "Oh, I think it likes you," kind of way).

I agree. Also, they both had a Starlyat one point. But I guess they are just showing how similar trainers Paul and Ash really are even if they seem like complete oppisates at first glance.

I thought that this was a pretty good episode too. I actually forgot that Paul had a Weavile in his team. It took me awhile to remember it. I thought that it was interesting that the Gligar and Gliscor were trapped in the city like that. I thought that they could just fly low to the ground and go back to the forest that way. Their radar sound waves also made them appear more like bats than any scorpian. Man, Paul was such a jerk, again, telling Ash and his friends to stay out of his way. He really is the same old guy. Seeing his two Pokemon attack Gilscor like that was pretty mean since it is suppose to be just one-on-one. I have to admit that having both of his Pokemon land on him was a nice taste of payback.

I had a feeling that Paul would catch Gliscor since that was what he wanted to do. He really was a jerk towards the Gilgar about not caring about them. At least we're close to Velistone City and I really hope that we get to see more of Paul and learn more about him. Using Gust like that to send the Gilgar back home was a pretty good idea. I had a feeling that Ash would catch a Gilgar, especially since it had that cute look on its face. I understand what people are taking about with Ash and Paul catching similar Pokemon, but I'm sure that its just meant for how different, yet similar they are as trainers. It was also really cool to see Turtwig finally master Energy Ball. Overall, it was a fun episode. I hope that we'll see more of Paul in the later episodes, as well as Lucario because that is my favorite Pokemon.

I don't think that a Gilgar would scare Misty. She obviously has a fear of Bug type Pokemon, but that never happened for Pokemon that may look like a bug. I don't think that Gilscor even looks much like a bug. Both Gilscor and Gilgar look more like large colored bats to me.

Misty saw a Gligar in the Gligarman episode back in Johto. I haven't seen that episode in years so I don't remember if she was afraid of it or not.

Well it was funny thoughts I was thinking at the time, I can't go back and research history. Sper of the moment thought.

But searously bat like creatures in a show like Pokemon remind me of Myotismon, as much as real bats remind of Dracula.

Haha PUSA actually called it a rice ball in this episode. I bet 4kids would have edited it into a sandwhich or something...

Doubt it. 4Kids kept a rice ball in a recent episode of Dinosaur King and called it rice.

Now that was by far the best part of this episode. Paul is so stuborn and have, not just one, but two of his pokemon getting knocked back into his face (literally) must have been really embarrassing.

I don't get why Dawn was yelling at TR and telling them to let Gliscor and Gligar go. 1. Those are wild, so they're fair game for anyone. 2. Wasn't the whole plan to get rid of Gliscor and the Gligar from the city in the first place? TR's just doing it all in one fell swoop. The plan Joy and Jenny had failed, due to TR being blasted off and their balloon crashing into the building.

If TR capture a wild Pokemon with a Pokeball, then its fair game and it belongs to them. If they try to capture wild Pokemon with a net, or a machine, or whatever, its considered poaching.

They kind of touched up on this in some eps in the past, but I can see why it would be confusing.

It was a Packirisu that Dawn caught, than let go, than Team Rocket found it, Dawn changed her mind and wanted Packirisu, TR said they caught fair and square, Brock said TR got the Pokemon fair and square, and then had a battle or something similar to settle the differences.

I thought Pachirisu chose Dawn in the end.

I swear could one time, the twerbs just step aside and let the two divisions of Team Rocket duke it out? Sometime can the writers just let that happen. How often that TR step aside and be part of meaningless B story when Ash has his battles.

Anyway Cassidy's new voice is awful, not as good as the 4 Kids voice. Butch still sounds the same, like an old man that has smoking all his life.

I don't know why Jessie never called on this, but Cassidy skirt is so retro and out of date. It is like something from the 60's.

Cassidy's new voice was the same as the last time they appeared, so its not the first time it was heard, I remember liking it last season.
