    Just a question

Does anyone have any idea why Chowder and Out of Jimmy's Head are rating TV-Y7-FV? They aren't violent and I am curious.
An authentic blend of 23 flavors

Me neither. The "FV" in that rating stands for "Fantasy Violence" for which there are fights and shootings. So far, there isn't a single violent scene in Chowder or Out Of Jimmy's Head to give them a "TV-Y7-FV" rating.

"Fantasy Violence" can also refer to slapstick antics such as falling anvils, springing traps, pie fights, characters getting slimed or swallowed by other characters, etc. You know, stuff you wouldn't see on Dora the Explorer or The Backyardigans. Hence the FV ratings for Chowder and Out of Jimmy's Head.

Because the TV Ratings System is a joke.

TV-Y7 and TV-PG both have the same general description (Parental guidence is suggested for viewers under 7) and are used interchangably on certain shows (when Goosebumps aired in primetime on Fox, the rating was TV-PG, but during its afternoon run, the rating was TV-Y7 [originally GB-7, which was not only created just for the series, but also inspired the current ratings system as a whole]). The reason it seems like a bigger thing than it is is because Cartoon Network's TV-PG programming seems to be darker than the rest of the network's programming with small bites of violence, situations, and, in some cases, mild profanity.

TV-Y programming is seem mostly as preschool shows, which is why you see shows formerly rated TV-Y like Pokemon as TV-Y7. Not all TV-Y7 shows should be rated TV-Y7.

Pay no attention to the ratings. They're pointless and serve no purpose other than to take up screen space in the corners. If people don't know what they mean (like the networks for example), then constantly showing them isn't going to explain it.

I know I talked about TV ratings before. Somewhere, on some site.
What does the X stand for? It's definitely not Extreme. Extreme starts with E.

However, in the case of Pokemon, there were two versions: a TV-Y and a TV-Y7 version. The TV-Y version aired solely on Kids' WB! while the TV-Y7 version aired in most other countries and also on Cartoon Network USA.

The TV-Y7 version would keep more "controversial" items in, such as cigars or crosshairs on the lens of Team Rocket's bazooka.

No . . . they're pretty much the same standards. Even the episodes just as they aired on Kids' WB and in syndication that were rated TV-Y were rated TV-Y7 on Cartoon Network.

Yeah...I know they're pretty much the same standards and that most of the episodes were the same. But as I mentioned, there were a few instances where the editing was less harsh on the CN and international version, which may have been enough to boost the series' rating as a whole up to a TV-Y7 level.
