    Out of Jimmy's Head - "Talent Show" - Talkback(Spoilers)

    Like This Thread!
I'm not sure if administrators are the only ones to do talkbacks but I'm taking a chance anyway.

Lately we've been hating Re-Animated, right? And since the DVD and show is out, there's nothingbetter than letting your feelings out in this talkback of the first episode of Out of Jimmy's Head.

If anyone wants too,can they supply me with a talkback image for this show? Thanks.

    Anyways,talk on.

So is there a reason the show is premiering at 7:00am? So far it look okay. Not great but okay.

*sigh* Like others, the biggest problem I have with this show is that it renders Cartoon Network a bit of a liar.It isn't just cartoons anymore. The animation in this show seems like a cheap way to try and maintain the cartoony vibe. The truth is,it's probably going to bomb.Maybe CN isn't trying to copy DC's success in LA (okay, maybe a little ) maybe their simply trying to make another Roger Rabbit.I dunno. The changes in characters, the hollow two-dimensional zaniness of the animated characters, the protagonist's whack job family and the protagonist himself is about as dull as dirt looking compared to the other goofy characters (animated or otherwise). If the series has enough charm and if CN changes their name.Maybe we can live in peace.

Just a recommendation: Watch one of the 6 re-runs, NOT the premiere. It'll get enough people watching it without us. We can't contribute any more than we already have.

Remember, unless you are in a Neilsen household, when you watch hardly matters.

Yes, if you have a Neilsen box, don't watch it and don't let anyone else in your house watch it. If you are unaware of a box, look for a little black box that resembles a computer modem, next to your tv. Or you can simply ask a parent or guardian if your house has one. Please, bribe your younger siblings with money, candy, videogames, or whatever, just don't let them lend ratings to this show. Is this ok with the mods? If a mod comes here and agrees with us, I think I'll scream like a little girl.

I'll see the first episode, since I could use this as a great chance to loose a few pounds. On a repeat airing, of course.

    It's 7:00pm.

Anyway, I'm not trying to look like an OOJH fan trying to defend the show like that guy on TV.com. But after reading lots of posts, it seems to me like most of you would be okay with animation/live-action hybrids like "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?" airing on CN. Yet a lot of the same people, say that Out of Jimmy's Head, which is just that (a live-action/animation hybrid) shouldn't air on CN.

I think they reaired the pilot movie "Reanimated" this morning at 7 am, don't know what time it started or ended. I tuned in to watch Ed Edd n Eddy, and "Reanimated" was on the air instead. It was over by 8: 30 am when Ben 10 aired.

It was a "sneak peek" of the whole pilot. I saw the last 10 minutes and liked what I saw....tons of animation in it and a few LOL moments.

You mean I missed Ed Edd n Eddy for nothing. Now I am already angry at the show, the show is already off to a bad start with me.

    - Who is this guy on tv.com, what's his name?

    - I would call it a hybrid but CN insists on calling it live action

    - The toons are so generic and they have a dark side to them. It's like they want everything for Jimmy and don't care for anyone else.

    1. I don't know what his name is but he is constantly on the forum defending the show in hate topics. He also called someone hopeless because he wouldn't watch the premiere

    2. Yeah, it looks to me that the toons do have a prominent role from the clips I saw. CN is just advertising the live-action for more ratings.

    3. I will have to watch a whole episode to see that.

BTW, I think Tux is a great character, best on the show probably. I put my hopes up a little bit. Who knows? Watch the show and you could be surprised, OR it could be bad. But we will have to wait and see.

I also like the theme song a lot.

The show's biggest hurtle is the fact that it's a live action show written as a cartoon. Jimmy is basically a crazy person who talks to himself. The acting is pathetic(or the writing and direction doesn't allow for good acting) I usually feel embarassed and ashamed for actors when they have to address thin air, that is unless it's done with good effects like in Transformers. It's a shame these kids' careers are being ruined like this.

An astronaut mom with an alien big sister AND an evil mastermind living with them and a dimwit father on top of it all? Come on, CN you could do better, even with live action.

CN is turning into Turner Kids or the acronym is changing to Children's Network instead of Cartoon Network. I've said it before, but CN has always been something of a kid's channel, but atleast their programming had some class. The Cartoon network I grew up with dies a little with every new show. With Anime replacing serious American shows like Justice League and this travesty, what's next?

It's not anime's fault that "serious American shows [cartoons]" come around once a millenium. If Americans are incapable of regularly making serious cartoons, and apparently they are, you have to go elsewhere to get them.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: cartoons do not have to be serious in order to be excellent. Shows like Tiny Toon Adventures, Animaniacs, Futurama and Eek! The Cat were brilliant shows that were all played strictly, if not entirely, for laughs. Lest we forget, not all anime are serious dramas, and there have been just as many crappy anime are there have been crappy USAnimated shows. Frankly, I get tired of the mentality so many anime fans seem to share that Japan has never produced a turkey in its' entire history and that imitating anime is automatically the key to making a show great.

So, who's doing the talkback thread for "Talent Show" tonight... ZING! (snareshot)

i hope there might be some Linux refferances during this show's run... (Since we've got a penguin in the show, there might be a Linux nod somewhere...)

Agreed. Therein lies the main problem that I have with Out of Jimmy's Head. I might have cut the show some slack if OOJH had actually been about the cartoon characters alone and if it's producers didn't try to cram so many different gimmicky elements into the same program. But as it is, you've got Jimmy, his friends, his school life, his dopey dad, his astronaut mom, his extraterrestrial older sister, the evil guy who's trying to kill him and the cartoon characters that only he can see. The premise of Jimmy's having a mother who's an astronaut and a big sister who's an alien could have been a whole 'nother series on it's own and not connected to the toons at all. OOJH is a clumsy attempt to merge several shows into one.
