Cartoon Network Talkback: Yu Yu Hakusho "Death of a Spirit Detective" SEASON PREMIERE

The final season of Yu Yu Hakusho has finally arrived! Former Detective Shinobu Sensui’s plan to create a portal is almost complete. How Spirit Detective Yusuke Urameshi and Spirit World will prevent this apocalypse? Find out on “Death of a Spirit Detective” at 5:30 AM on Cartoon Network.



Last Season on YYH:

After the Dark Tournament, Yusuke was kind of bored since he beat the most powerful demon that Human World has. So Genkai taught Yusuke a lesson using Kido, Yanagisawa, and Kaito, humans who gain powers over territory from the opening portal to Demon World. Our heroes learn that there are seven enemies, Doctor, Seaman, Gamemaster, Sniper, Gourmet, Gatekeeper, and Black Angel, led by former Spirit Detective Shinobu Sensui. These enemies could not finish their mission without a way to cut the Kekkai Barrier that prevents A-class and S-class demons from entering Human World. “Lucky” for our heroes, Kuwabara was the one with that way: his Jigen Tou (Dimensional Sword). So after a few fights, Kuwabara gets kidnapped. After gaining a friend in Seaman aka Kiyoushi Mitari, our heroes made their way to Sensui’s lair. After a couple bouts with the seven and a brief appearance from Elder Toguro, Yusuke took on Sensui. It was then revealed that the true seven enemies were Sensui’s seven personalities: Ichiya the Philosopher, Minoru the Arguer, Kazuya the Killer, Naru the Crybaby, Shinobu the Pure, and two insignificant personalities. Koenma came to make a last-ditch effort to seal the portal with his Mafukan pacifier, but Shinobu was too strong for the Mafukan Kekkai barrier. Now with nothing left, Yusuke will sacrifice himself so that Kuwabara, Hiei, and Kurama, who are watching in another dimension, become stronger.

Yusuke comes to terms with the fact that he cannot defeat Sensui. Watching but unable to help, Kuwabara fights off emotion with rage as he remembers all the good times and bad he’s had with his best friend. Kuwabara manages to free Kurama and Hiei, but it’s too late. Yusuke Urameshi has been destroyed.

Malex’s YYH Forcast: This was one of my favorite episodes in the arc and the dub is no exception. We will see how much Kuwa-chan loves Yusuke and a little more….

Dang! It's been a while! Can someone remember what happened last time on Yu Yu Hakusho cause it was over a year ago. I recall he was still fighting Sensui's side of personalities but it's all a blur.

By final season do you mean the whole last batch of episodes of YU Yu Hakusho will be shown to put the series finally to rest!?

Here it comes.... Chris Sabat did a great job as Kuwabara in this episode. This scene always make me cried, with Kuwabara freaking out trying to summon the Jigen Tou.

Sadly because of the edits made the death scene wasn't as dramatic as it should've been. I always cried at that scene, but for the first time I didn't. I would do an edit list but someone else will probably do it. Nice to see they kept the punches since last season they held back.

Only really good shows can make me get up THIS early in the morning. Luckily, it was worth it.

Kuwabara was just great in this episode, though things did get a little out of hand with all of the crying shots. Finally he got to summon up the Jigen Tou and bust out. It's about time for the three of them to take center stage for once. Poor Yusuke, though.

Next episode: The triple assault, including Yoko Kurama! Allriiight.

I particurally liked the music featured in this episode when Kuwabara summoned his Jigen Tou. Very moving.

Next week's episode is my favorite from this Arc.
