In re: TS's Mandy and AB's Penelope

Hi. Newbie here making my first post.

I was originally going to post this in the "Who's the biggest jerk on CN?" thread, but apparently it's gone.

Anyhow, I do agree with those who thought that Mandy from Totally Spies and Penelope Lang from Atomic Betty are among the biggest jerks on the network, and here are my reasons:

1. Mandy: Let's face it, Mandy looks like a Frankenstein experiment: She's got the brains and attitude of Tiffany Farrell from Luann in the body of Bianca Dupree from Beverly Hills Teens. Heck, the show itself resembles Beverly Hills Teens, Luann and Get Smart meeting headlong in a train wreck, with none of the humor that made any of those shows funny (I'll admit now that watching BHT was a guilty pleasure of my misspent youth in the 1980's ) In some ways, Clover and Mandy's competitiveness over fashion, boys, etc. resembles the competition between Tiffany and Luann, especially when Aaron Hill was still part of the strip. In some ways Alex and Sam play the Delta and Bernice to Clover's Luann in that regard as well by essentially telling her to shut up, grow up and move on with her life. Mandy's definitely the worst toon vixen since Bianca tore up Rodeo Drive in her limo--perhaps even more so because toward the end of the series Bianca was showing some redeeming qualities.

2. Penelope: She's just a snotty brat IMNSHO. Somehow she reminds me of Mrs. Kravits from Bewitched: She thinks she's got the goods about what Betty's all about (just like Mrs. Kravits was convinced she had Samantha dead to rights on her witchcraft), but somehow no one wants to believe her other than her "friends". Of course, if she did convince people that Betty was a Galactic Guardian, Penelope would sic the men in the white coats after Betty in an instant (provided they don't drag her away as well )

Truth be told, these are two people I wouldn't weep over if they got rubbed out, car-bombed or got ran over by a steamroller.

I'll go with Penelope. At least Mandy was nice to the girls in ONE episode I believe.

I know this is slightly off topic, but is anyone else sick of the "mean snobby beatiful/rich girl" anarchirst? I know I am. Why do shows still use this type of character anyway? It's so 60's... or at least 90's.

You're right. Like kids that rich, or as rich as the shows insinuate, would attend public school.

Just herd all of those snobs into a pen and let them be snobby to each other, I say.
