Dexter goes to College

LOL. Did anyone else see this episode? I must say the new season keeps getting better. "Study, study, study....Party, party, party...Party now, study later." Oh and Gabe, how classic. Poor Dexter, I guess he'll have to wait another 10 years before he's exposed to the campus life again. Can you imagine if Dee Dee was there?

That episode was funny......

I couldnt stop laughing.

"Party Now , Study later dude."

Dexter was hillarious. He was being better than everyone else until the end when he went insane and flooded them all.
The episode afterwards it was funny too. He had those goggles that you can see through things with , but he kept runnig into his famliy.

Eck....It was funny.....If I was him Id be even more freaked out.

It's funny how "The Grandfather of Inventions" ties all the way back to "Old Man Dexter".

As a former alumnus of Arkansas State University I can relate...thankfully I was never one of those freshman who overstudied and fried his brain before spring break, but I've seen it happen. Tip: a harmonica is a lot cheaper than psychotherapy.
My thought was, wouldn't Dex be reluctant to go to college and leave his lab behind? Especially with Dee-Dee skulking around?

Technically, "Failed Experiment" is a misnomer: it succeeeded, just too darn well. Note how Dex stands with his back to his mother at all times during the short....don't know what thought is worse, Dex's seeing the wrinkly old woman naked or his sister dancing naked.... :shudder:

"Grandfather of Invention" is a lesson that sometimes the old ways are the best ways...Dex, for all his brains and forward thinking, lets that concept elude him....

Dexter's mom is a wrinkly old woman? Sure she's got the biggest hips and butt of a cartoon character I've ever seen, but old she's not!!

There was an old woman on the street who dropped her dentures, and when Dex picked them up for her he screamed and fled (though we don't know why just yet; I was thinking those lenses were something like 100X magnification and he saw up her nose or something, an equally as vile prospect if you consider it). Then he talked to his father and wound up seeing a lot more than he wanted to ("Check your back pocket."). Then the scene with his mom--understandable he didn't want to see her naked, since that would be bordering on a whole Oedipal taboo thing there. Though she does have an admirably-sized bum, I'll give you that (Dexter's father: That's why I married her!)...must be straining, too, to walk about all the time on tiptoe....

What's a "diggery-do". It looks like some big log, but what's it for and why is it there?

It's a primitive wooden Australian wind instrument which produces a noise which is hard to describe--rather a cross between a moose in heat and and a party favor. I think there was one in Crocodile Dundee, and another in an ep of Gargoyles. Now my query is why make one that big--very impractical. How would one play it? They'd need lungs and lips like Superman.

But it's spelled "didgeridoo".

I first heard about this unusual (in terms of its name, the sound it makes, etc.) instrument on a hilarious Simpsons episode, "Bart vs. Australia".

I can relate with Dexter; I'm just finishing up my first semester at college (I transferred from a community college). The place is huge, and with all the running around I had to do yesterday, not only did I almost suffer a breakdown (I'm fine now, though), but I think I lost weight! I guess you have to take the good with the bad.
