CN: It was 10 years ago tonight . . .

    Like This Thread!
. . . when the Powerpuff Girls made their world premiere (on Space Ghost: Coast to Coast)!

My memoirs of that fateful night (and a retrospective on PPG) are posted here on my LiveJournal blog!

Now if only I can crosspost this to the General Forum . . . :anime:

Man, you just brought back some wicked memories. I, too, was there for the PPG's big debut, and was also begging that they'd be shown, and sure enough, they were!

And, I agree with you 100%. The early episodes are much better than what we're getting now (of course, I can't really judge, since I haven't had Cartoon Network since we moved to our new home).

    Great stuff.

Don't see why people liked the older ones better. I much prefer the later episodes.

Gee, ten years... though back in 1995, I never even *heard* of the Powerpuff Girls----was more ticked off that I couldn't watch "Dexter's Lab" anymore since it was moving from TBS to some new-fangled cable channel nobody got (and I didn't really get to watch until 4-5 years ago).

Finally got to see the Powerpuff Girls for the first time, IIRC, on a video I rented---the "Bubblevicious" VHS tape. Since then, liked them ever since (even coming up with a PPGs-meets-Pinky and the Brain fanfic story...). Though yes, the earlier episodes are better than the latter ones (like virtually every other TV show, especially if it's been on for longer than 7-8 seasons...*cough*Simpsons*cough*).

I've had CN since 1997 (thanks to having DISH Network. Our local cable company did not carry the network during that time). I cannot believe it's been that long, either.

Whoop Ass Stew was a great short on Craig's part. Showing his better traits of his college days that were soon lost in the dust. To this day I'm shocked there was never one No Neck Joe reference in any of his future work (mostly the PPG's)

edit: I'm not allowed to spell part the title which was @ then $$ for ass.

PPG does have DVD releases. Just not in order or a boxset.

10 years? It seems like it was a bit longer than that. I thought it premeired in 1994. Or well, I loved those shorts. I knew that if Cartoon Network ever made it into a show it would be a mega hit. Turns out I was right.

Heh... I remember seeing that episode, too. Obviously, CN hasn't rerun it very much since then, so it's been ages since I've seen it. But you can read a transcript here: http://www.snard.com/sg/guide/?ep=toon&fmt=0
